I don't know if you still use this blog but I haven't read either the books or watched the show are they both good? Hope I can also find the books. What I wanted to ask is I heard the reason why Clay turned Elena in the show like the reason for it is it the same way in the books to save her?
The books are amazing, and I didn’t finish with the show because it really became it’s own thing and didn’t follow the storyline or the characters.
And no, not at all. In the books Clayton would have never let anything happen to Elena, but he wasn’t biting her to save her. He panicked and bit her because he was torn between two worlds and saw her slipping away. It’s why they spend ten years not together in the book series. And I love that difference because it doesn’t romanticize abuse or pain. Clay fucked up. It’s never forgiven, but they do grow past it. In the show they make the bad things romantic and I hated that a lot.
Kelley Armstrong actually recently came out with a two book/novella thing for the Danvers clan - can’t say more without spoiling it but I’m so glad she’s still writing for them, still after almost 20 years!
