In celebration of the second anniversary of Epic, I decided to share a little headcanon of mine.
Years ago, before Tara was chosen as the Queen, she was a free spirited little girl that ran around Moonhaven with her three favourite guys. Ronin, Finn, and Cliff. (Nod’s father.)
They planned to join the leafmen, all of them, the moment they were old enough. They would be together and have each other’s backs, working as a team to protect the world they loved.
Those plans were thrown a little off course the day Tara was chosen as the new Queen. At first, she was very disappointed, still wanting a life of freedom and adventure. She wanted to be a Leafman with Ronin and the others, but now that she was the Queen, there was no way that was going to happen.
The boys told her they would always keep their promise, to always have her back and keep her safe. She promised, as their Queen, she would do the same.
As the Queen, and one of his best friends, Ronin was determined to do his best (and then even better) to keep Tara safe. He became more serious and less reckless than his two fellow leafmen and eventually became the General. Cliff and Finn were more excited about the adventure and dangers of being a leafman but were always more than happy to work with Ronin. They were all close with Tara and their friendship never died.
