ALL OF ME; ALL OF YOU UPDATE 2026!

Hi, friends. Especially @ygofangirl and @gwenkatana, and my other loyal and wonderful readers of my slow-burn modern day blueshipping fic All of Me; All of You. Happy New Year! How y'all doin'? Ssssooooo I know it's been -checks notes- little over a year since I updated. BUT BUT BUT! IT HAPPENED! CHAPTER 18 IS NOW LIVE! AAAHHH!!! I am *so* sorry for the crazy long wait. Life's been. Well. Do I have to say?

But A N Y W A Y . All of Me is NOT DEAD, and I REALLY HOPE I CAN GET BACK TO MAKING REGULAR UPDATES THIS YEAR. REALLY REALLY REALLY A LOT!

In case you missed it, I have INDEED been working on and writing other things:

For instance, I wrote a one-shot that settles the Does Kaiba Smoke Cigarettes argument once and for all (jk not really).

I also am continuing to co-write the YuGiOh Cop AU no one asked for with the lovely Vavavarino, which is prideshipping but since it's *me,* our dear Kisara will still make an appearance in an up-coming special episode that was supposed to be out on Kaiba's birthday but :) the world said "lol no."

ALSO, there's a new and up-coming series we're co-writing called "A Future With You," that finally allows me to put in writing my theory that PRIDE AND BLUE ARE EXTREMELY INTERCONNECTED AND ONE CANNOT BE WITHOUT THE OTHE- -gets dragged off stage-.

ANYWAY. The first part of that, MAX Chaos, is out and a boatload of fun. If you haven't checked that out, I highly recommend you do so, especially if you feel like you're needing a good laugh. Cuz, let's be real, who doesn't these days?

I know I rehash this scene time and time again in Paper Roses, to the point it almost gets shoved at the reader with every other chatper.

But.

I adore it so much.

This is the first concrete time we get to see the strength Kisara has, and her link to Seto that even she and Seto don’t understand yet. She’s on that spiked platform, staring down spirit monsters from other prisoners as they get closer. They’re stronger than her, more accustomed to Aknadin’s dungeon/pit/thing … and she just stands there and allows the monsters to attack her.

But the moment Seto’s life is placed in peril, then she summons the White Dragon. It was the same juxtaposition back when young-Seto freed her from the bandits; she was locked up for an unknown time by those men, treated poorly and anything else could have happened. But she stayed in their cage and didn’t escape. Didin’t summon her Ka.

But when the bandits attack Seto’s village and him too, again the White Dragon is summoned.

I’ve seen some people support the idea that Kisara doesn’t know her own strength, but that she can summon Blue-Eyes when her life is in danger kinda like the Avatar State in ATLA. But I politely disagree, and I think it’s Seto’s like being in danger that’s the linchpin. And I also think she’s fully aware of her spirit monster, just lacks the training to use the White Dragon as effortlessly as the High Priests use their Kas.

If we look at the final scenes between Seto, Kisara and Aknadin, we see Kisara take a definitive step forward and summon the White Dragon before she’s struck by Aknadin. She knows what she can do, she just isn’t as trained as the priests. Though, let’s establish that she can summon her spirit monster without the use of a DiaDhank.

Ugh … my feelings for these two. There’s just so much more I wish we could have seen expanded on or explored. Things the magnificent Takahashi never got the chance to write, which is why I will continue to laud this first scene where we see Seto and Kisara have a connection.

it is a little sad we didn't see how and why Priest Seto and Kisara ended up loving each other.

we do know that Seto saw a power inside of Kisara there was like no others. he wanted this power for himself but along the way, he should have seen Kisara as more than a means to an end. he began seeing her and not a power to harvest.

Kisara have always looked up to Seto because he helped her were others would just let her die in a ditch. he gave her water she was denied and he gave her shelter. again, we do not see why she fell in love with him other that he kept saving her.

but something must have happened between them, maybe Seto stopped seeing her as a servant or something strange. maybe she managed to melt his cold heart? maybe they learned from each other.

it all depend on how you write the two of them is my guess.
