Clutch - Heard It All Before: Live at the Hi Fi Bar (2007)

Clutch - Outland Special Clearance (Record Store Day 2016 exclusive)
I did an interview with Alex Jones a year ago, saying nothing to no body Nevertheless, my chop’s still getting busted, accusing me of working under mission from illuminatis Oh, that’s cold blooded! Clutch - Full Fathom Five (2008)
Full Fathom Five is the second official live album from Clutch. However, the band has released other stellar live albums that are usually double disc sets on their website. The Full Fathom recordings are taken on the From Beale Street to Oblivion tour. If Clutch sells it, I’m buying it!
Track list: The Dragonfly, Child of the City, The Devil & Me, Texan Book of the Dead, Animal Farm, The Mob Goes Wild, Cypress Grove, The Elephant Riders, Ship of Gold, The Yeti, Promoter (Of Earthbound Causes), 10001110101, Mr. Shiny Cadillackness, Electric Worry, One Eye Dollar

Clutch - Run, John Barleycorn, Run (Record Store Day exclusive)
How many more times, you gonna cut me in two? How many more times, you gonna grind me like you do? I got a real bad feeling They’re singing in the barn I got a real, real bad feeling And I fear the break of dawn
How many more times are you going to do me for?
[Hook] Run, John Barleycorn, Run! Now run on home The miller’s cup is empty And his fire’s going cold Run, John Barleycorn, Run! Now run on home He intends to cut you down And put you to the stone
How many more years, you gonna lay me out to dry? How many more years, you gonna sentence me to die? And neither one’s telling me the reason why
[Hook]
Come the dark of Winter When you’re hungry and alone Come the long, dark of Winter You’re gonna treat me like a lord Just like you did the year before

You’re having a heart attack I’m gonna bring it back Ride like Poseidon And glide through the blood bath
I’ll help you ride the wave!
It may just be proclivities to (?) sour mash Your insides are all we (?) The scent of rotten trash

Clutch - Blast Tyrant (2004)
Blast Tyrant is the album where Clutch really turned the corner in their evolution from a hardcore band to a sludgy, blues metal band. As I’ve posted in the past, I loved the shift in Clutch’s sound and they continue to put out amazing albums. I’m really looking forward to their upcoming album in late 2015.
Blast Tyrant is one groove oriented song after another and if you’re looking to get into Clutch, start with this album or From Beale Street to Oblivion.
My faves: Mercury, Profits of Doom, The Mob Goes Wild, The Regulator, Worm Drink, Spleen Merchant, Subtle Hustle, WYSIWYG
With every day that passes, it keeps on getting stranger, but that really doesn’t bother me, cause I get off on the danger.
X Ray Visions - Clutch (via inkcoveredhands)
Clutch - Robot Hive/Exodus (2005)
You gotta love the offbeat album titles from Clutch!
The Blast Tyrant album sparked a new era for Clutch as their sound evolved into a blues rock/stoner metal band. Since that album, Clutch has put out one fabulous album after another. The follow up to Blast Tyrant was Robot Hive/Exodus, which kept up the the blues rock vibe. As a major blues fan growing up, I really enjoy hearing Clutch incorporate the blues into their sound. They even covered Howlin’ Wolf and Mississippi Fred McDowell on this album.
My faves: The Incomparable Mr. Flannery, Burning Beard, Gullah (yeah!), Mice & Gods, 10,000 Witnesses, Land of Pleasant Living, Gravel Road, Who’s Been Talking?

Clutch - Decapitation Blues
The experts agreed the condition was dire By all indications the subject should have expired You’ve been banging your head like a teenaged fool Here you’ve been kicked in the neck by a three legged mule
[Hook] Do you care to confess to traumatic abuse? You have an advanced case of the decapitation blues
Upon my release I had my suspicions That they were too liberal & skillful with all the incisions Cool heads prevailed and now it’s all too clear to me That reanimation is not what it’s all cracked up to be
[Hook]
Now a congress of corpses is always in session Debating the wisdom of my current direction You’ve been banging your head like a teenaged fool Here you’ve been kicked in the neck by a three legged mule

Clutch - Son of Virginia
It was the morning of All Saints’ Day, ‘98 When that old blind dog started roaming around the graveyard Wouldn’t have bother me so much Were he not walking on his hind legs and smoking cigars
[Hook] Recite my/your/our lineage and genealogy You’ve got to know your history, Son of Virginia Everybody’s in the church believing they’re a sinner And looking for a sign from the True Son of Virginia
When the storm blew over we made our way To the old hay wain to infiltrate the sarcophagus By the dim light of a narrow window we saw The God’s honest truth staring right back at us
[Hook] Everybody’s in the church believing they’re a sinner And looking for a sign from the True Son of Virginia Stare into the embers on the first of November And remember you were born a True Son of Virginia
I was thrown the the ground as my world broke asunder Truly we are living in an Age of Wonder (x2)
It was the morning of All Saints’ Day, ‘98 When that old blind dog started calling me associate Wouldn’t have bothered me so much, were it not for the fact That was the truth of it
[Hook] Stare into the embers on the first of November And remember you were born a True Son of Virginia
I was thrown to the ground as my world broke asunder Truly we are living in an Age of Wonder I wept like a child as the Son rose above her Truly we are living in an Age of Wonder (x2)
