I’m a young person with ASD(Autistic Spectrum Disorder). This stems from disabled children including those with ASD being rejected on grounds of lacking resources other cases threats of other parents of withdrawing their kids if the disabled kid is allowed in under the misguided belief that the disabled kid will take resources from their kids.

In New Zealand(were I live) there was uproar from the closure residential special needs schools to be replaced with wraparound services to allow these kids to attend their local school. This radio interview of one of the affected parents just made me rage

A one act play I like to call the "Nice Guy Tango" that one of my best friends endured over the weekend. I mean, how dare she not want to be friends with someone who is so into "female empowerment" but posts sexist things all over her wall, throws a tantrum and stops talking to her when she tries to point out how it is hurtful to her, then writes her an essay complete with pretentious quotes about how she's a mean hurtful bitch who should beg for forgiveness after she doesn't apologize profusely for her horrible insults.

I know I am the worst mod ever, and I am working on that. I have been lurking around tumblr when I can, I just most often don't have the spoons to post. I am gonna try and be around here more permanently, and I have a lot of rage to vent. I only hope we can rage together!

I also am trying to figure out a way to make the captions less buggy for text-only browsers, but tumblr is being its usual fail self when it comes to useability in that fashion.

Why do you place a description of the image in the image's alt text and also in the text of the post? The explicit purpose of alt text is to provide a description of an image if the reader is unable to view it for whatever reason. Furthermore, if I have my screenreader set to read the alt text of images (which they generally do by default), then it will end up reading the image description twice, which is irritating. Your redundancy kind of hinders the built-in accessibility features of the web.

That isn't me! I've tested it in both ways. Without putting anything into the caption box, there is no alt text. However, tumblr puts the caption into the alt text automatically. If anyone has found a way to get around this, please let me know. But I'd rather be redundant than not have any caption at all.

sorry if you've been asked this before, but why do you (and many many other bloggers) put the captions underneath the photos?

I put the captions in so that people using text only browsers (such as people who are blind) can still understand what is being said. We may be able to see the picture, but we shouldn't shut them out of the conversation because they cannot.
