Fullscreen premieres the documentary series Keeping Score with US Women’s National Team players Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe, and Crystal Dunn on Wednesday, August 3rd. The new sports program (Fullscreen’s first) revolves around the trio’s preparation for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as they turn the cameras on themselves, chronicling rigorous training, bouts with personal injuries, and their ongoing battle for equality amid the male-dominated sports industry.
Premiering three months before the nation heads to the polls with the option to elect the first female president in U.S. history, Keeping Score actively engages with the hot button issue of gender-based wage gaps in America. Additionally, Keeping Score will also focus on issues of race, as Dunn notes she’s “one of the few black women playing soccer.” Viewers can watch it — and other original titles on the streaming service — with a first month free trial then on demand for $4.99 per month.
Twelve teams representing six confederations will compete in the 2016 Rio Olympic Women’s Football Tournament. The official group draw will take place Thursday April 14th and the first matches start Wednesday August 3rd.
