it’s iruka’s birthday today so let me just list the reasons why I love this man:
- despite being one of many orphans after the kyuubi attack, grew up strong, kind, and courageous
- despite kyuubi attacking and being scared asf, was ready to fight with his parents?? take down a nine tailed beast?? Wow???
- was a playful prankster, always wanted to make kids laugh despite his own insecurities
- literally helps nurture the next generation of shinobi
- earned the third hokage’s trust with his wisdom
- believed in naruto FIRST, and never stopped
- despite mizuki being his friend, took that betrayal and put his student first and didn’t hesitate to try and cut the dude down
- took that huge ass shuriken to the back to protect naruto, don’t ever tell me iruka is weak back off
- did not hesitate to confront kakashi in front of all jonin’s plus the hokage because he was concerned about naruto
- during pain’s invasion was also ready to be stabbed dead for a kid
- during fourth ninja war came personally to try to protect naruto from entering the war but still wrote him a letter KNOWING his student and continuing to support him with encouragement
- in road to ninja when he surprised naruto with a cake back at home, listen I still cry
- literally was naruto’s DAD during his wedding, an actual parent, so supportive
- also almost always got into top 5 in almost all character popularity polls, his IMPACT
- talented, brilliant, incredible, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever done before
