Pairing a semi-solid color with a variegated color shows off the dark shades seen in the shadows of the forest floor against the ever-changing seasonal colors displayed in the tree canopy. The cowl is worked in the round as a long tube, using linen stitch to knit the two colors to create an overlapping gradient effect, and then the ends are joined together to form your cowl. I've got something exciting to share this week! Earlier this year, a favorite yarn company of mine, @knittedwit invited me to design a pattern for a collection of patterns they are releasing in the Fall for the launch of their new yarn: Knitted Wit Sport. The launch date is this week and includes a selection of autumnal colors and beautiful patterns! When I received my skeins of yarn, I knew right away that I wanted to wear it around my neck because it's so soft against my skin. Here's a little peek of the pattern I designed, called A Walk Through the Woods Cowl, it will be available to purchase later this week. I designed a cowl that makes the most of the gorgeous colors in this collection, pairing a solid with a variegated for a fun contrast. The cowl can be worn as a single loop, draping your neck and shoulders, or as a double loop for chillier days when you need the extra warmth.
