For the anon who asked for the origin story of Jun’s lack of chill: in the first pic during the photo op, Mao is wearing her bracelet, and Jun has wrapped a scarf around his to hide it (badly, as you can still see it underneath). Then they change clothes for the aisatsu when they get to Sapporo - Mao has taken hers off since her shirt buttons at the wrist, and Jun now isn’t hiding his. 

Even though the bracelets are similar enough at a distance that people thought they were identical for a while, they’re pretty obviously not if you look closely here. Which makes the lack of chill even more hilarious to me, since there shouldn’t be anything weird about two costars wearing two totally different cuff bracelets. AND YET JUN HAD TO MAKE IT WEIRD

Something caught my eye in the Yahoo Japan article and made me wonder if there was really a time when both of their jimushos denied any romantic relationship between them and declared they were just friends because for the life of me, I don't remember anything of that sort.

No, I don't either. I don't think their jimusho have ever had to deny a romantic relationship between them since there has never been a two-shot and no tabloid has ever straight-out busted them (and that no one ever has should imply how fiercely they're protected by Johnny's). There has never been a reason for their jimusho to need to deny it, every time pap photos have run of them, it's always in a "group hangout" setting with camouflage, lol.

I'm not gonna translate it since there's no new information in it. It is basically linking the quick deletion of the Maojun blog post from yesterday, to the marriage announcement of a Johnny's idol that will be published next week (which was announced by the same reporter who said in December that Maojun would eventually marry). There are quite a few other writeups out there doing the same thing that aren't this ridic longwinded, lol.

There's a long rundown of how they were on Hanadan and have been rumored ever since…how they both attended the Shun/Yuu wedding and how everyone in attendance was allowed to bring a plus-one, so it seems possible they were each others' dates since no rumors leaked out of either one bringing someone else…how their couples' items are famous…but they've never had a two-shot, so it's impossible to know for sure whether they're only friends or something more blah blah blah. And a part where it says that for a time, Mao was plagued with rumors of being a spoiled brat who demanded to be treated like a princess by everyone and would be snotty to peoples' faces (lol what) but their *~reporter source~* claims she's just kind of naive about the world and a bit dim since she's been ensconced in show business since she was a child, but is also really sharp-tongued… So maybe they're only friends if Mao's as terrible as these rumors say!!!

Obviously this is a super accurate article as the whole "spoiled brat/confused about how the world works since she's been trapped in the business of show for her whole life" bit totally syncs with the character of a girl who normally went to college while working and was known for being down-to-earth enough to eat normally in the cafeteria with the rest of the students every day… (And come on, I think the only negative tabloid article I've ever read about Mao was it being reported that when someone told her Maeda Atsuko was graduating, she was like, "Who the hell is Maeda Atsuko? …NOPE. STILL DON'T CARE." WHICH, IF TRUE, ONLY MAKES ME LOVE MAO MORE.)

Basically, this is the blog of Kagaya Mari who recently went to a dinner gathering in the Oguri household, which at this point seems pretty much just a open-door policy kinda place. Anyway, kittens familiar with Kanji will spot our OTP’s names side by side in the second cap because yes, they were there. According to the blog and people who actually read Japanese, Shun introduced Mari to his mom and sisters and also waitforit: Mao and Jun. She went on to say Mao and Jun are both amazing people and she’s really glad she met them.

The post went up early today (?) and is now no longer available at her blog, possibly deleted, which just feeds our shipping fantasies.

They flew to Hawaii together (+ Toma, Yuu, Shun) for the wedding; the five of them were seen at Haneda in a group. Someone saw them out to eat with Yuu and Shun in Hawaii; just the four of them like a double date. Then another sighting of them out with Yuu and Shun in Japan earlier this year.

Hii! Just wanted to say that I am a HUGE Maotsujun fan and make it a must to check out for new things. A lot of the stuff that I have found is because of your page, and for that reason I was hoping if you can answer one of my questions. I was wondering if you know anything about this gif, i would post but it wont let me. The gif has inoue mao saying something and then it shows matsujun laughing with like a yellow background around him and mao is wearing like a tank top and has makino hair. :D

The interview is from Bokura no Jidai, which aired on December 30th. Jun is talking about "the person he would marry."

How hypothetical the talk is, is up to interpretation...but given that Eita runs in the same social circle as Jun and Shun (they talk in the interview about how they've been regularly meeting up a few times a year for a long time, and Eita says he agreed to appear in Lucky Seven "because Matsujun was starring in it"), and that Mao and Jun were sighted attending Eita's butai together this year...Eita's reaction doesn't come off that hypothetical, lol.

Today a locally-based Fukuoka gossip show ran a Maojun marriage rumor story. A tabloid reporter appearing on the show talked about how Maojun had been rumored for years since Hanadan and said that a marriage was on the horizon. They said that since Mao had bought that house for her mother, it seemed to be preparation for marriage by making sure her mother was taken care of beforehand.

The other hosts said the rumor seemed unbelievable but it would be great if it were for real, and the reporter presenting it replied that they were definitely going to get married and it would eventually be proven true.
