PC Engine controller extension cables!

Those original cables on PC Engine controllers are very short, most likely because TVs used to be much smaller and so players sat very close to the screen.

But what do you do if you want to play your PC Engine on your giant LED TV without thinking you are at the IMAX?  The answer is longer cables.

Cable extensions were pretty hard to find for this job.  For starters, NEC opted for the 8-pin Mini DIN connector - great for saving space, but how many devices use them these days?

Fortunately there seems to be a small market for this connection type - which is more widely known in the music industry and also was once used on Apple Macs to connect peripherals.

The Apple Mac cables are beige though - which looks a bit dull.  But what’s this?  Some brand new black extension cables that perfectly match the machine?  Perfect!
