Adhere to the path of the truth and do not feel lonely due to how few it’s people are

just wanted to share something that eases my worries.

The Prophet ﷺ came across ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud whilst he was sad, and said to him:

‎“Do not increase your anxiety. That which is decreed occurs and that which is provided shall come to you.”

- Shu’ab al Iman 1188

ثم إنَّ الطريق طويل، والسلوان مؤقت، والأنس بالناس يزول فمن لم يكن في معية الله فهو هالك. The road is long, comfort is temporary, and the warmth of people fades. So whoever is not in the company of Allah is truly lost.

Virtues That Shape a Strong Character

Fix broken ties, treat people better than they treat you, and speak the truth even if it costs you.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

‎"Connect with the ones you've cut off , be good to those who have wronged you, and speak the truth even if it's against yourself."

Even Delay Is Part of the Test

Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله :

‎“I think part of the test is when a believer supplicates and receives no response, and he repeats the du‘ā’ for a long time and sees no sign of a response. He should realise that this is a test and needs patience.”

The Quiet Struggle Is Heard

Not everything needs to be said. Some pain is a conversation between you and Allah alone. That’s sabr. It’s heard, even when no one else hears it.

Sufyan ath-Thawri رحمه الله said,

"Three qualities are from patience:

1. Not speaking about your sins,

‎2. Nor about your pain,

‎3. Nor about your righteousness."

How to fear Allah?

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:

The more a person knows of Allah, the more he will fear Him. Ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Fear of Allah is sufficient indication of knowledge. Lack of fear of Allah is due to a person’s lack of knowledge of Him. The most knowledgeable of people are those who fear Allah the most. If a person knows Allah, he will feel more shy before Him, will fear Him more and love Him more. The more his knowledge increases, the more his shyness, fear and love of Him increase.

When the Heart Forgets to Feel Shame

When you lose shyness with Allāh, right starts to feel wrong and wrong starts to feel right. Protect your heart before it flips.

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎“When the heart loose shyness, it will like the disliked and dislike the liked (things to Allāh).”

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله)said:

Some of the Salaf would say

"Good deeds are done by both pious and sinners people (from time to time).

But only a truthful person can leave off sins."

True Wisdom Lies in Staying Grounded Through Life’s Highs and Lows

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله said,

"Understand that life has occassions. One time it is poverty, and another time it is wealth. Once it is honour, and another it is humiliation. Happy is he who remains grounded in each situation."

Sometimes Being Alone Brings More Peace

Sometimes the peace we’re looking for isn’t in people, but in being alone, where our heart can finally breathe.

Ibn Qudāmah رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ said:

‎“Loneliness saves you from the evil of the people.”

Causes of Sustenance and Its Hindrances:

These 4 bring provision (rizq):

1) Tahajjud

2) Abundant Istighfar before Fajr

3) Consistent charity

4) Dhikr in the morning & evening

These 4 prevent provision (rizq):

1) Sleeping in the morning

2) Few optional prayers

3) Laziness

4) Treachery

True Value Lies in Iman

While worldly possessions are shared among all, Iman is a distinct honor. This hadith reminds us that true worth isn’t in what we own, but in the faith we’re granted.

Ibn Mas'ud said:

“Allah gives the Dunya to those He loves and to those He does not love, but He grants Iman only to those He loves. So when Allah loves a servant, He grants him Iman.”

Man consists of the mind of an angel, the lust of an animal, and the fancy of Satan. One of them will prevail. If you could overcome your fancy and lust, you will be in a rank that is higher than an angel. And if your fancy and lust beat you, you wil be in a rank that is less than a dog.

Feel it, but keep your heart with Allah Grateful in good times, patient in hard ones

It is reported that ʿIkrimah (رحمه الله)–said:

Everyone gets happy and gets sad, but you should turn your happiness into gratitude (to Allāh) and your sadness into patience (sabr).

When Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal’s son had a daughter, Imam Ahmad would say to him:

“The Prophets were fathers to daughters.”

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal used to pray 300 raka'at every day.

After the injuries he received due to the Mihnah (Imam Ahmad was imprisoned by the rulers and tortured), he used to pray 150 raka'at, and at that time, he was close to 80 years old.

Everyone should have times when they sit alone, remember their sins, and thus seek [Allāh’s] forgiveness for them.
