I’ve done it. I’ve finally reached one of my milestone goals, and I couldn’t have done it without you.      “Bien sûr, mademoiselle.”      In a world surrounded by magic, his actions would not be considered out of place, granting himself permission to dissolve into the air and reappear plopped on one large leg. He stared up with a charming grin.

          Expanding on the Pirates verse -

     Essentially, it takes place present POTC verse, so the timeline is definitely not modern. Gabriel was disguised as a woman, living in the outskirts of a small town known as Arborough somewhere along the coast (unspecified). He was incognito, killing off and/or otherwise scarring for life those who deserved it in the small village. Whether it was cheating husbands to the abuse of power, he gave them what they deserved. But in time, the villagers caught onto him, or thought they did, and the woman was formally accused of witchcraft. For which the punishment was death by hanging proceeded by the burning of her corpse, or simply burning her at a stake. However, a passing man interjected and saved her life with the cunning misdirection of conversation and a clever escape, to which she ended up on none other than The Black Pearl, a pirate's vessel. Now Gabriel sought to play out this little game, knowing the only person who was ever really in any danger were the townspeople who'd been a hair away from making a dreadful mistake. This was all a part of his 'witness protection' plan, with the ability to disappear at any time, he made it interesting as he's known to do by sticking around.

      Post!Revelation that his true form is in fact a male, Jack believes him to be a witch after all given the powers he holds and what he can do - an excellent cover in his mind, so he went with it. And soon after seducing the Captain into a vulnerable state, he marooned Jack Sparrow on an island to fend for himself whilst he took over his ship and his crew.

     Upon the return of Captain Sparrow, Gabriel made a bargain for the position of first mate, and it was awarded to him with some consideration of Mr. Gibbs. Now he resides as a ‘loyal’ first mate aboard the Black Pearl in sailing the seas and dealing with the crew.  It is known he's not normal, whether he is human or not is debatable amongst the crew, but they have more or less witnessed and understand the power he possesses and just what he's capable of in the long run.

     “Not really my forte,” the nonchalance flowed through his words and relaxed stance.

     The stranger stopped in the direction of the dreaded 'it.' His aura unmoved, putting himself in front of the female partially by chance. The man’s presence seemed to have been erected out of the shadows, a mere bystander in the eyes of the other, but a saving grace in reality. Literally. 

     A cute, sarcastic grin stretched briefly on his lips, an upward warping of brows amplifying the expression of sass.

     “Check you later.”           And with two fingers, friction generated the disappearance of whoever or whatever .. 'it' was, leaving the pair to silent pitch and sinister air.

Raleigh stood there in a stunned silence. Well, guess he didn’t need to run, she thought. She was entirely torn between being totally impressed and totally freaked.

"So, I’m not sure if this is the part where I thank you or threaten to kill you," she watched him closely; her hand hesitantly inched toward the silver knife on her belt. Of course, she wasn’t sure if the knife would help her, but God she hoped it would if it came to it. He had just saved her life, though… so… she was pretty sure he didn’t intend to kill her. "I’m going to go with thank. I should probably know the name of my savior, huh?" She offered an awkward smile.

     An unimpressed gaze flitted across the stranger's features with ease, brows still knitted together upon the turn that brought with it a weak threat of a threat.

     Golden stare fell to the instrument sitting on her hip, a brief navigation that leisurely delivered itself back to opposing eyes.  

          Wise choice. 

     “First thing's first, princess -- this isn't a fairy tale. I'm not your knight in shining armor, though I may look good enough t'be. I'm no more your friend than I was sketchy's back there.”
