for valerio, it seemed as if though the castle was going through a phase of innate nosiness, a kind of intruding and imposing nature apparently possessing the majority of the resident royals. it was something that he could most definitely live without, but as it seemed to become more and more apparent, the shorter and shorter his fuse became. the image that was plastered across his screen was actually a photo from the war, one captured by one of valerio’s closest friends from back home. as – jasmine, he thinks, leans over to get a better look and stapling her rudeness with an unnecessary comment, he can only narrow his eyes and furrow his brow in an expression that colored his handsome features unimpressed. ‘i’m sorry, but are you serious?’ he locked his phone so the screen goes back, and the image disappears from her wandering eye. ‘your choice to be so crass only enforces the naivety that you seem to be wearing like a perfume.’ he rolls his eyes at the thought, the budding adolescence particularly strong with this one. ‘if i were you, i’d avoid butting in where you don’t belong. i’m sure it will do you some good.’

         it was the perfect exhibit of yasmin’s inability to think before speaking, as well as her poor choice of words. a fact that tended not to shine her in the best of light, and obviously made her less admirable in the eye’s of many. granted, understanding that this would be the case, and yas not being a hot-head herself, people snapping on her for her rude comments tend not to send her in her own round of fits. it just gives her a sight of people she knows to stay clear of. note to self; valerio is not one to engage with in typical situations. she had no issue with this. she had no quarrels with anyone. no reason to start beef. yasmin was unable to make the full details of what was on that phone and obviously it was something sensitive, triggering something in him to cause rather rude words of his own to come out at her. did she deserve it? most likely. so she distanced herself from him and held her hands up in surrender.   “ apologies, my man. i will stay out of your bees wax.”   she wasn’t a fan of people so uptight and ostentatious, anyways, so it wasn’t a heartbreak when they openly showed distaste for her. her father would just prefer she make no enemies, so she promised to pick and choose her battles, and keep them to a minimum.
