@oolsen-blog1
it’s well past midnight, the majority of russia along with the setting sun has long since succumbed to the temptation of sleep - even a vast chunk of the russian night life already winding down for the night - when sebastian returns to the warmth of catherine palace. he’s rumpled beyond recognition; his button down creased and missing nearly half its buttons, hangs off his shoulders and his hair is mused to the point where it’s sticking up in several directions. he takes the moment of peace to calm his rapid breathing, peeking out the window to ensure he lost the hoard of girls. the absence of screams is surely a good sign. “oh shi–” the sound of approaching footsteps has him spinning around. clearly he’s not the only one still awake. “uh, buenas noches.” he offers, a sheepish smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
all oliver heard was someone breathing really loudly, and in a palace, noises seem to bounce off of every single wall. “did you decide to go out for a midnight run, or something?” oliver asked, even though sebastian was wearing his regular clothes. “it looks like someone ... or something tried to rip you apart!”
“So did you have fun? With your family I mean? The palace feels empty now that the party is over” she half smiles tucking her short hair behind her ear.
“i definitely miss having my siblings around... and my parents too i guess. but i do like my siblings more.” oliver said, trying to make the conversation more lighthearted rather than nostalgic about the good times when he spent his days with his family. “i agree. the halls have a certain echo that make it seem even more lonely.” oliver thought he was rambling so he shifted his attention, “what about you? how was your night?”
fukyasmin:
“ i am absolutely down for starting a channel dedicated to reacting to adult films. you and me, ollie, let’s go. “ she grins, slapping her hands together with enthusiasm. “ wouldn’t that be fun ? “ yasmin’s idea of fun tends to be different than the rest of the world.
oliver blushed a little but laughed at the prospect, “you know i think we could get a lot of views on our channel? i wouldn’t say that a channel is out of the picture for us.” oliver thought for a second, “although i think most of it might be me being slightly disgusted and then you just completely destroying me about my reactions!”
juliengarcia:
“if your tongue can’t take this, then we’ll have a hard time being friends. sorry, man.” julien lifted the plates and slid one over towards oliver. going over to the fridge, he got out a glass bottle filled with a green sauce which he placed between them. “this is the mildest hispanic sauce you’ll ever have, promise…you’ve seriously never had one of these? have you had empanadas or tacos?” has he had any south american food? you’d think they have this conversation already with how much julien loves talking about his land’s food.
“ooh, yikes. that’s a little harsh don’t you think? my taste buds are my taste buds. i would change them if i could.” oliver joked. oliver looked down at his plate, and he sweat a little because what if he didn’t like it? he didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of julien... again. oh, well. i’ll deal with it. oliver thought to himself. “hmm... i guess tacos ring a bell.” oliver said with mock curiosity. “but then again, i don’t think that whenever anyone thinks of oliver olsen, they think of the word ‘foodie’.”
anjaisms:
“you found out my plan,” she said, with a joking smile. “butter makes everything better.”
“yeah, the only downside to butter though is that i feel like i can practically feel like arteries clogging the second after i put it in my mouth...” oliver laughed, “which is definitely not an ideal feeling.”
kaidev:
kai looked up from his phone when he heard oliver speak — he hadn’t really acknowledged his presence until then, but not out of unkindness. he’d just been lost in his own world for awhile. “what kinda movies?” he asked, pocketing the device and grabbing one of the throw pillows from the end of the couch, hugging it to his chest. “if you’re into horror, i’m gonna have to take a hard pass here …. but anything else, i’d be willing.”
oliver wondered if he startled kai a little, but that thought quickly left his mind. oliver lit up a little at the prospect of kai’s company, as oliver definitely did not want to watch a movie all by himself like a loner. he slightly flinched when kai said horror because oliver himself wasn’t really sure if he could get through a horror movie himself. “oh, of course not. i would not put us through that kind of torture. how do you feel about some throwback movies? maybe we can wishfully say we were... born in the wrong generation?” oliver joked.
bennettdarby:
bennett laughed when oliver complained about the strain that picking a movie would have on him. “you’re so dramatic.” he grinned. “but, i don’t know, like a comedy or something?” bennett suggested, taking one of the blankets from the couch and wrapping it around his long legs and torso.
oliver raises his eyebrows and nods, “i think you chose well, going the comedy route.” he pressed a few buttons on the remote to get to the comedy section of the on demand movies. “2046 was a good year for movies... i think. but then again... i am a sucker for bad movies. i hope you don’t judge me too harshly.” he said continuing to scan through the movies.
amccrae:
aislinn’s eyes scanned the various titles of movies that were displayed, noting that there was a large variety of genres. “very true. i’m sure they won’t even mind if we use online resources. the real question, though, is what genre to watch?”
“an excellent question,” oliver said, wondering what he was in the mood for the most. “i’m not sure if you’re a cinematic critic or something, but i’m totally up for anything. i probably have the worst movie taste out of everyone because i love all movies.”
lailanis:
smiling when he gave her half of the blanket, lailani wrapped it over her body and snuggled into the blanket to get comfy. laughing softly at his cheesy saying, lailani got a hold of the remote and opened netflix. “alright, barney,” she said and started looking through their options. “we can do a mix of all three if you wanted? the scary movie movie series is a thing, so we can watch those? It’s a mix of all three and it’ll even be a marathon.” she explained. “although, they’re not that scary and i’m not really sure if they’re even considered thrillers, but i know they’re definitely comedies.”
oliver’s eyes widened, “that’s genius!” he looked at the screen excitedly, “you know, i’ve always heard of those, but it never dawned on me to actually watch one of them.” oliver nodded, “maybe we’ll laugh at how poorly produced it is? or maybe i’m just grossly underestimating them and they’re better than i think they are.” oliver snuggled further into the couch, getting more excited by the second to have a marathon.
anjaisms:
“if you’re sure,” anja said, getting up. making her way to the kitchen, she asked, “are you going to want butter on yours?”
“are you trying to make me gain weight?” oliver joke. he playfully nudged her, “of course i want butter. i enjoy living my life on edge.”
juliengarcia:
a light chuckle escaped him and he couldn’t help his grin that formed but hit by looking back at his meal. his humor was cute, and in response to that thought he took a breath and shook his head at himself. “could you ever?” it was meant to be a double entendre. it was also meant to not slip out of his mouth. “i didn’t make it that bad. but you’ll be missing out if you don’t put a little bit of aji verde on it.” he informed, fixing a plate up for oliver
oliver raised his eyebrow at julien’s comment, but didn’t make a big deal about it. don’t mistake oliver’s silence for indifference though, because oliver really cared. he just didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of julien anymore than he needed to. oliver jokingly sighed with relief, “oh, maybe my tongue can take it in that case.” oliver stared at julien’s back while he got oliver a plate. “i’m excited. maybe i can say i’m branching out a bit.”
jcsefina:
┗ “ugh fine i’ll pick the movie then,” she proposed, grabbing the remote control from the coffee table before them, “only if you rummage together some snacks, i’m feeling peckish.” the brunette then proceeded to flick through the list of movie categories on netflix, searching for something she was in the mood for. “hm how do you feel about an action film?”
oliver grinned. he was glad that she was choosing the movie because if he chose it, he would feel the pressure from it. he wanted josefina to like the movie that they were watching so that she would stick around. “sweet of salty?” oliver asked, moving from under the blankets. as he was opening and closing cabinets to find all the snacks he could, he heard her call out ‘action’. “yes! we could use a little excitement in our lives.”
anjaisms:
“well, this one’s like, thirty years old. but my grandmother always showed me the old movies,” anja explained. she let out a smile that was somewhat fond and somewhat sad, remembering her grandmother. “would you like me to get some? i’m sure there’s a bag in the cupboard.”
“oh, no. i’ll definitely have to go with you,” oliver told anja, “what kind of... movie host would i be if i just let you go alone?” oliver threw the blanket off of himself, “plus, the kitchen is kind of far away. we can both walk there while the ads before the movie rather than just sitting here doing nothing.” he insisted.
anjaisms:
“i agree,” anja mused, nodding her head. “comedies are the best because they make people laugh which is one of the best things in the world.” anja truly thought that laughter was the best medicine. “oh, rewatching movies is great! i love discovering new things about it.” she studied the tv, looking through the titles. “oooh, i really like juno, my grandmother made us watch it. really funny.”
oliver clicked on the title. “wow, and i thought i saw every movie! i guess there’s a first time for everything.” reading through the description he finally pressed play. “if only we had popcorn, and then this could be perfect.”
singsongnari:
“Oh come on, what is life without a little bit of glam. We are royalty after all are we not?” her eyes roll at the words, the thought of them being considered above the rest simply because of who their parents were was strange but it was the way things worked and who was she to question it. “Yes. Don’t show up alone. Very dangerous. Always travel in groups” she laughs nodding.
oliver caught her eye roll and smile slightly. oliver also found titles slightly ridiculous, and although he was humble in some ways of his lifestyle, he enjoyed some of the perks, such as the balls. sometimes oliver thought it was nice to dress up and seem like someone you’re not... even if it’s just for a couple hours. “i don’t think i could bring myself to show up stag anyway. i would feel too lonely and probably wouldn’t even go if that were the case.” oliver sighed, “do you already know what you’re going to wear to the ball? or your look overall?”
