♖: Having their hair washed by your muse

"Would you please stop- Zack!" This was becoming incredibly frustrating. Zack just couldn’t hold still at all, could he? You wouldn’t believe he’d been dead for five years…. the man was still as restless as a puppy. A snarky remark about the dead and patience threatened to roll off Cloud’s tongue, but he bit it back. Zack was back, he was alive - and by the gods, his hair was a mess. It grew longer, and it was dirty and now it was his job to wash it and trim it a little, as apparently, Zack wouldn’t let anyone else touch him. What felt like a millions of knots in his black hair made this task harder than he liked it to be. Cloud tried to be gentle, he really tried - but apparently not good enough, because Zack just wiggled out of his hands again. “I’m sorry”, Cloud sighed and dropped his hands. “I know this is uncomfortable, but no one expected your hair to be that long. Come on, I’ll be gentler this time.”

"You’re gonna pull my hair out!” the ex-SOLDIER grumbled, drawing his knees right up to his chest and scooting forwards again, wincing with pain. The water sloshed around the pair of them, lapping up the sides of the tub and over the top to drip down onto the floor. Everything was seemingly banding together to add to Zack’s discomfort: the steam was making the air too muggy, the water was making his scars ache, his skin itched where the hair was plastered down onto it… "Clouuuud…"

What made it all that much worse was all of this had been Zack’s idea in the first place. Despite having been in the Lifestream all this time, his hair apparently hadn’t gotten the memo, going from slightly unruly to completely untameable. Though Zack had once taken care of it himself, cutting and styling it when necessary, some idiot part of him had thought it would be ‘fun’ to get Cloud to do it instead this time.

Now his scalp was burning and his lungs were full of steam. 

Zack half-turned to face the other man, his usually playful face contorted into a somewhat miserable expression. He drummed his fingers on his legs, still holding them against his chest - looking a bit like a pouty child. 

"Might as well just shave it all off," he said with a dramatic sigh.

Maybe he wouldn’t notice. 

The cadet had been leaning against him for the entire movie, back-to-chest, the pair of them huddled in the corner of the sofa. Zack had tried to play it casual, claiming that the movie “just happened” to be on the television and that he “might as well” switch it on seeing as they didn’t have any other plans for the night. 

He had completely forgotten about what this particular scene always did to him.

Maybe he wouldn’t notice… but then, Zack had always found it so difficult to be subtle while expressing his emotions. The SOLDIER tried to sniff in quietly, but seeing as his chin was resting on Cloud’s shoulder and his mouth was in the immediate vicinity of the blond’s ear, it was pretty much impossible to completely disguise the sound. And once the floodgates had been opened, they refused to be shut again. 

Zack Fair was sobbing at a cheesy romance movie.

Midgar, both a city and continent run by the generosity of the W.R.O, is massive in size and connected to Spira through a chain of many islands. It makes up a gargantuan part of the Northern Hemisphere, causing a stir within both Gran Pulse and Palamecia on either side. It is home to the destroyed Bevelle and the excavation sight and is seeking to restore its losses. 

This nation’s priority is offense.

There are three ports. One at the archipelago, one at the eastern and western ends.  They export many weapons, vehicles and other metal-based goods.

Holds the crystal of Earth in its main city, within W.R.O. control. 

Holds very few allies, currently making note of Spira just underneath themselves. The Southern Hemisphere (Not yet shown on the map) is where their loyalties lie in terms of alignment.
