Dear white people:
When a minority tells them about their experience, believe them.
This post gave me cancer. Please delete.
Nah
Enjoy your cancer
Youâre willing giving people cancer. Thatâs a crime I believe. Guess the police and the judge and the jury must believe me. Look whoâs going to jail.
Well, Iâve heard âprison orangeâ isnât as unflattering as youâd think
Have fun with that cancer
Haha @too-easy-being-green @keyhollow @transguyconservative
Believing what someone tells you, with the only merit they having being skin color, is ridiculous.
Donât be stupid. Just because theyâre a minority doesnât mean theyâre honest or good people.
I meant minorities talking about their lived experiences as minorities. Which yâall probably knew but w/e.
Which they can still lie about. A one on one conversation? Cool okay. Somebody up on a podium bitching? I donât know about all that. Imma be skeptical.
Maybe Iâm weird, but I donât believe skin color is the deciding factor in how genuine a person is.Â
People can and do lie, even about personal experiences. If I have good reason to believe you, I will no matter what color you are. But you donât get automatic trust just because youâre a minority. I donât expect that and I would be offended if someone who didnât know me from dick was like, âOh, youâre biracial so of course youâre telling the truth.â What? No. Donât do that. I donât get an arbitrary pass over someone else because Iâm biracial. Being biracial doesnât make me more trustworthy. My actions do.
POC here please delete this post because it gave me tier 5 autism as well as cancer. BELIEVE ME BIGOT. @salt-sass-and-lyrium
Ah yes, because itâs not like people lie or grossly exaggerate things to benefit themselves or even to see others suffer from it. That never happens. Ever.
Wow holy shit you guys are missing the point and itâs almost amazing.
Let me sum it up: We donât need non-minorities to validate the experiences of minorities.
Example: How it should go: Disabled people: Hereâs what we go through on the day to day Non-disabled people: *listen*
How it should not go: Disabled people: Hereâs what we go through on the day to day Non-disabled people: LOL NAAAAAH. HEREâS what you go through on the day to day.
Now youâre just going back on what you said and completely changing the meaning because you realize that what you said earlier was a load of shit. I think that people should just listen to and understand one another regardless of skin color.
Orrrr⊠thatâs pretty much exactly what I originally said (in an admittedly poorly formatted way but it was ass oâclock when I posted it) and you just misunderstood it.

I still find it a little dumb. Thereâs nothing wrong with being sure that a problem exists before talking about it and spreading awareness. Some of those methods you mentioned I agree with you on. Imitating a certain race or gender is just downright disrespectful.
If I want to be sure a problem exists⊠shouldnât I go talk to people who may be facing that problem over those who arenât?
If I want to be sure that thereâs an issue with say⊠VAs, shouldnât I talk to vets who utilize VAs rather than people who donât? If I want to be sure that thereâs often issues with mobility for physically disabled people, shouldnât I talk to people who are physically disabled over those who arenât? Iâm not saying you canât dig deeper into an issue, in fact, I encourage it. Iâm just saying when it comes to minority experiences, listen to the minorities who are living it over people who arenât. If a blind person says âHey hereâs what blind people go through on the day to dayâ and Iâm for whatever reason skeptical, shouldnât I go talk to more blind people, rather than someone whoâs not blind? Thatâs my point.
And 100% agree on the imitation being disrespectful. Itâs gross and it happens all the time and Iâm so tired of seeing these people being lauded as âbraveâ or some shit because they decided to pretend to be a minority for a few days.Â
Well part of it is talking to the person and seeing what they say, but like I said and you just stated, their word is not just enough to go on. You do have a point there however. I do think talking with the so called victim is important, but yeah you need more to go off of.
