The 8th annual Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology is open from now until February 7th for sign-ups/submissions. This anthology is a multifandom collection of short (under 1500 words), female-centric fanworks, and it’s a very friendly, low-stress challenge even for if you’ve never made podfic before. but I think I hate my previous dialogue recordings more than I hate how I sound right now, so I’m gonna chug more water and keep on even if it means this one character’s dialogue file clocks in at 10+ minutes. >(

my super-humble setup:

blue snowball iCE

mini isolation booth made from a cardboard box, foam cannibalized from a DDR mat, and some throw pillows for extra sound absorbtion

a cheapo pop filter (clamped onto a coaster so it doesn’t do much damage to my desk)

book-as-stand, which gets the mic to a good height for me to read into
