Hi, I know I've been MIA for a while, like close to a year. I sincerely apologize for that. But I've made some decisions about this blog. I am going to be moving away from this blog and instead I will be turning @fullstcp into a multimuse blog and moving Kie and Sarah over there. I'd be thrilled if some of you wanted to follow over there and to have the opportunity to write with you guys again.

"Thanks, Sarah." She says, sending a brief smile in her friend's direction. She's not the best when it comes to emotional conversations, or this level of honesty. But it's nice. This time at least. "That means a lot to me."

"I just can't imagine having that strict an idea of someone in my mind." Obviously she's not a parent, but she can't imagine ever expecting her child to be exactly who she imagined they'd be. It's just not realistic. But, then again, when have her parents expectations ever been realistic?

" she says with a sigh. she knew the two were both kooks turned into pogues but she'd also seen how money changed people and who it made them become and she was never quite the fan of it. "I mean, I know it makes things easier." Because it does. Things were so good for them once they got a little money. But that got blown to hell pretty quickly. "But I didn't know people sold their soul to get it."

She doesn't understand why a little bit of money makes every kook think they're so much better than everybody. If they're measuring their worth by their wallet alone, then they need to find a new way of looking at things.

"Sometimes I don't know if that'd be better or not." She says, thinking about her family and the way she used to know them. The people she used to believe them to be. "I'd be ignorant, but who's to say if it'd be bliss."

fingers reach up to play with a lip. a sign of her anxiety coming through. for the longest time sarah had hid herself. run when things felt like too much but she found herself always coming back to john b. it felt natural....easy. she didn't have to hide a thing about herself, never had to question why he was with her.

She knows feelings can be scary, even with people you trust. But running away from them isn't going to make anything any better. It hasn't yet, so why not give talking about her feelings a shot?

The force of the hug takes her back a little, but she doesn't hesitate to wrap her arms around her friend in return. She knows that Kiara and her parents aren't on good terms, but for them to have never told her that they're proud of her? Kiara's been on this earth for nearly two decades, she's done plenty for them to be proud of. Sarah can't help but wonder how far Kie'd have to go to appease them. And if she ever got close, would it really be a victory or would they just move the finish line further down?

𝑯𝒆  𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘  𝒉𝒆  𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒅  𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕  𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕  𝑲𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒂.  She  walks  on  the  wild  side  and  doesn't  hesitate  -  at  least  not  that  he's  seen.  He  has  respect  for  it,  and  the  fact  that  she's  made  him  smile  more  than  anyone  has  of  late?  Shit,  he  finds  himself  that  actually  being  happy  isn't  as  bad  of  a  feeling  he  thought  it  might  be.

Usually  when  he  found  a  bit  of  happiness  something  threatened  to  tug  it  down,  hide  it  away,  and  ruin  it  in  the  most  fucked  up  ways  possible.  Thankful,  in  a  way  that  things  played  out  but  he  could  have  done  without  the  pain  he  suffered  that  built  up  this  wall  around  himself.  Not  just  shitty  parents,  but  thinking  you're  going  to  be  a  dad  at  a  young  age  only  to  find  out  the  kid  ain't  yours,  and  then  to  have  your  fuck  buddy  hit  that  very  chick  who  said  the  kid  was  yours  with  a  car  fucking  her  up  for  eternity?  Yeah,  well,  it  does  shit  to  a  guy.

And  that's  just  part  of  this  fucking  pyramid  scheme  called  life.

"I should hope so." She says as she takes the hand he offers her. She's come to realize Lip doesn't like many people, they're alike in that way. That was one of the hardest parts of starting over, finding new people to like. And she's only really found the one.

"Where are you taking me this time?" He's the closest thing she's had to a tour guide. Not every spot he's taken her to has been a home run. In fact, there are a few she has no intention of ever going to again. But it's fun. It's cool to see what he feels are the can't-miss destinations in his home town.

"Of course it did, because it wasn't even really for you, was it?" She raises her brows. God, now that Kie knows the actual details - - - well, she's even more glad that she called the cops. Sure, it was out of hurt and jealousy, but she had only revealed that once when they were both high.

"Perfect." She smiles at her best friend before pulling her in for a hug. "Love you, Sarah."

"Was anything ever?" She asks. There are worse people to grow up around than Rose. But she made it evidently clear that she was only with Ward for his money. For the financial security he could offer her. And that his children were just an unfortunate part of the deal. She never really tried to be their mother, though, maybe Sarah can be a little thankful for that.

"I love you too, Kie." She says, smiling as her arms go to wrap around her friend. "So what color do you want to wear for your bridesmaid dress?"

She hasn't technically asked her yet. She figures it's kind of a given. Also, she didn't know the right way to ask. Didn't know how to boil their relationship, what Kie means to her, into some cute way of asking. So she thought maybe she'd try to be super casual about it. That's the way they do pretty much everything else.

what if he lays it out for her? what if he opens up just a bit more, lets her in and it comes crashing and burning like everything else in his life? what if she laughs in his face. those walls that he's built up do not come down easily. he refuses to allow them to. how do you describe a pull to someone who as vocally hated your guts since their fall out with your sister. like he said, everything always feels complicated when it comes to kiara.

"look, i'm not trying to be an ass." he's really not, it just happens to be a default setting at this point. "just...wanted you to know that i'm not the enemy." well, not anymore.

"Well, that'd be a first." She laughs, but there's no real humor in it. Things have always been like this with them, even when she was friends with Sarah the first time. Contentious, to say the least. Because that's always been the easiest way to describe something she doesn't want to put a name to. It's the only emotion she could feel towards Rafe that her friends would understand.

"I don't know if I can trust that." There's too much history. Too many betrayals. What good is his word after all of that?

to be honest, john b knows he's going down a dangerous path. the last thing he wants to be like his father. not anymore at least. not knowing how careless and heartless treasure hunting had made the man towards the end. yet when it comes to a quick way of making good money and providing for the people he cares about...he's quick to jump at the chance. this is probably a dead end. nothing is probably here but he has to have some hope right? someone does.

"i don't think it's the case. i mean, they hide it thinking that no one is going to find it. you just have to be smarted than them."

"And you think we are?" It's not like they're experts at this stuff. Sure, they've lucked out a few times, but it's not like they're going to be doing this forever. They're not like Big John, or even Ward for that matter. They're not obsessed, or that level of driven about this stuff.

Besides, it's not like they're Pope. They could completely miss something that's actually the key to this whole mystery. It's a needle in a haystack, and this is always her least favorite part. Feeling like they're wrong, like they're going in circles, until they're not. Until they're right. But right always feels so far away in this stage.

not at first but now? now sarah understands. gets that she is going to live her life how she wants. deal with the consequences when they come. she can't change peoples minds and at the end of the day it's her life to live. why is she wasting time or people who could care less to know the real her.

she doesn't want to go back to that lifestyle. not knowing who your true friends are. having to live in a mold people have set for you. she won't fit it now.

"Did you tell him that?" She asks. There's been so much back and forth with them. They're good then they're not. But they're never gonna get better if they don't talk to each other. If they don't try being honest about how they feel.

It's been a little whiplash inducing, if she's being honest. Not knowing where the two of them stand from one minute to the next. So she can only imagine how that's felt for them. "Because if you tell him how you feel, I know he'd listen."

" that's what i'm saying like yeah it's nice to have but it's not all that. you can function without it, it may be a struggle but it's not everything. " she says with a sigh. she knew how much money could help or destroy you and she was glad she didn't let it get to her. " i don't get why it is, we're just kids having adult lives. it's terrifying, i wanna go back to being an actual child, back then at least we didn't have all this." she says with a small frown. she'd do anything to go back to years ago when the two were friends and they weren't risking their lives every other week.

"There are things in life that matter more than money." She says. She knows money is necessity, it's required for any real quality of life. But money alone isn't enough to make a life good. And you can't take your money with you when you go. Maybe the kooks should think a little more about the lives they're affecting than the number of zeroes in their bank accounts.

"Things were easier back then." She agrees. She kind of wishes she could go back to before she knew anything about what her family really is. To go back to being oblivious. But she's not even sure she can imagine what that would feel like. She can barely remember what it was like to be the girl who didn't know about the things her father did.

𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔  𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌  𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒕  𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕  𝒉𝒊𝒎,  even  his  own  talks  shit  about  him  to  his  face  all  the  time.  The  town  has  their  minds  made  up  about  JJ  Maybank.  Hell,  even  the  cops  in  town  have  a  cell  with  his  name  on  a  bunk  ready  for  when  he  arrives.

And  odds  are  he  probably  will,  that  scale  of  bullshittery  is  tilting  in  the  favor  of  him  spending  a  lifetime  in  an  orange  jump  suit.  And  why  should  he  believe  otherwise  when  everyone  is  telling  him  that  this  is  who  he  is,  who  he  will  be,  and  he'll  never  amount  to  anything.

JJ  has  dreams,  wants,  desires,  and  part  of  that  is  wanting  to  grow  and  be  good.  But  why  when  he  doesn't  deserve  anything  good?  And  Kie  is  the  epitome  of  everything  good  that  he  could  possibly  have.  And  he  doesn't  want  to  ruin  that  -  he  doesn't  want  to  ruin  her.  And  if  she  chooses  to  stay  what's  keeping  him  from  doing  that?  Her  good  faith?  Could  he  manage  to  live  up  to  that  or  is  he  going  to  fuck  up  like  he  always  does?

Her parents have skewed priorities, they buy too much into an outdated and untrue ideology. She doesn't understand the way they think, she knows she never will. No matter how much they try to get in her head, their opinions about the pogues are never going to change her mind. So their opinion on any of Kie's life choices, on the people she chooses to spend that life with, means jack shit to her.

These islands aren't all that's out there, there's a whole world and it's filled with possibilities. Things they could do, people they could be. They don't have to stay the people they are at eighteen, and they don't have to fall in line with the story other people have already written for them. They don't have to prove those people right. Yet JJ seems to be determined to do so, time and time again.

"But I want you!" She says, trying to get him to get it through his head. She's never going to want anyone as much as she wants him. It was always going to be him, no matter how long she had tried to deny it. "I don't care about anyone else. You're my best friend. If I had to choose anyone in the world to spend time with, it'd be you. It's always going to be you, JJ!"
