the beach boys were originally called the pendletones!! they made it their name in reference to the pendleton shirts they planned to wear while performing and in hopes that they would be gifted free shirts. the name was sort of like the beatles (a misspelling of a different word to be more musical). also, the name was changed to the beach boys without any of the band members knowing!! they had only found out after the change had been made

Washoe (Waugh-show) is a chimpanzee who, taught by Beatrix and Alan Gardener, learned sign language! By the time she was 5 years old, she had learned about 350 signs!! She would even create her own signs for things she didn't know the words for :-)
