I'm still writing up more as I try to cohesively put this together in a way for everyone to get the gist of it and as I make it a summarized outline for when I start drawing this comic out.
I'm going to make newer refs for Magni/Bitterberry and Paps at least as my artstyle has shifted. But something a bit more definitive for them.
And Lastly. RULES!!! I added some Rules to this AU in case anyone wants to do stuff for it as I go! So, uh, yeah. Give those a read if you have an idea, but dunno if it's okay or not.

In all honesty, I don't know how often, if and when I can start the full-fledged comic for this AU with life being a pain right now. No Job, so no stable income beyond potential commissions in the future and streaming income, but I'll still be trying. In the meantime, before the story kicks off, I'm working on a small comic to test the waters and have some of the cast re-enact a moment from one of my favorite vtubers, Kronii.
Soon however, I do plan on promoting my Ko-Fi here so if you want skeleton doodles for a little pocket change, FM Content and such. Keep an eye out. Your girl here is hurting for funds ;;
Okay, question, how would the main characters of FM react to actual Funhouse mirrors, yakno, the ones that makes a person appearance in the reflection all zany & Kooky? 🤔🤡🎢🎠🎡🎪🪞
Well in all honesty, I think Paps would play around in it casually and crack a joke or two about how he'd look. Not really thinking much of it...
Bitterberry on the other hand would most likely, and while no one's looking, try to pose in it to at least look similar to how he used to look. Larger, Wider... He's even take off his gloves and lower the obnoxious bow to really try to recapture that feeling that that's who he TRULY is...
But standing there for too long and doing that would depress him pretty quickly. Probably would stop doing that halfway through taking off the 2nd glove if he hasn't sooner., feeling it's a bit dumb to do something like that.
If he's around others, he'd try to not even bother looking at one and just get through the maze asap. And we know Paps... He'd notice, tell him to try and lighten up a bit and enjoy the maze like he usually would. But wouldn't press BB further if he expressed is disinterest in the mirrors.
Should make a rules page for if people want to draw stuff for this AU soon. There's some VERY HARD Passes I wouldn't want to see with this take. Hell, see in general, but yeh.
The focus of our AU, but don't misunderstand. He is not at All like how the fandom depicts and twists him into being blueberry... No he's still Swap/Blue/Magni at his core, just...
Well what happened?!
Well... WHERE DO I START?
He's still very energetic, just not HYPER like most misinterpret him as being. Contrary to popular belief he LOVES Puns stlil! This will likely confuse the Fanon Paps early on... Says 'Wowzers' will always rush in to help friends and try to capture the human with his Riddles and Traps! Cooks and still has his '1 AT. 1 DEF' But finding himself in this alternate lifestyle and everyone belittling him and mistreating him, there's things that need to be stated.
He is NOTHING like 'Blueberry. He HATES Being called that. It causes a knee-jerk reaction in him. He's an adult, He can swear and he can consume sugar without the fear of others believing they've set off a skeleton shaped nuke. But this verse has adverse effects on him physically beyond being smaller and 'cuter'. ...right down to his stats.
Long story short, whatever you've heard about his fanon stats is all over the place. In this take... as one thing i've seen with many people, is that he's strong... absurdly so... (playing into the Sans power-scaling i see so much...) he ALSO! Dislikes this too! He wants to train and be stronger, not be handed 999 AT and 999 Def for god knows why! [999 at and def is subjective and not his true stats, hes just stronger than he should be] And everyone he knows in the beginning treats him as if he's the hyperactive, childish little gremlin they've known for years. ...Time to fix this...
There's more to be discovered but just know the one on the left is and always will be, in this AU, the one on the right as well, just internally.
I wanted this out before my Artstyle changes further as I've kinda moved on from this style.
Finally a 2nd Ref post. I'll be back on this a bit more diligently, and don't worry, Magni/Bitterberry's ref is coming very soon.
Differences between CanonUS!Pap and FanonUS!Pap.
Again almost no difference other than some key factors aside visually. Canon is still fussy over Magni's usage of Puns but more than makes up for it with his pranks. Doesn't smoke the zaza, but smokes just to look cool. Enjoys honey, knows resets, the whole 9 yards.
However, Fanon often depicts him being a lot more protective of his brother than normal. Going as far to have a stern talk with someone off screen if they so much cuss around his brother even. Perhaps even sometimes coddling him [winces]. And he enjoys puns by what I've heard from hearsay about him.
It's going to take a lot for Bitterberry to get used to this new treatment, but he's sure to set his brother straight and get him to not treat him like he's the younger sibling, right?
