These curfews are trash, sending a curfew alert ten minutes before it goes into effect is an obvious set up to give cops “just cause” to arrest protesters, FUCK THIS

LA also sent out a message in english that curfew was @ 5 and then like 10 mins later put out a message in spanish that curfew was @ 6 its not even to just arrest protesters anymore, its to target working class poor black and brown folks too esp since LA has a large immigrant and und*cumented population just how closing the coivid testing centers in LA not only targets the protesters but also the greater working class communities of color that dont have equal access to insurance and hospital tests

Straight people don’t seem to understand this but literally nothing on earth could ever make a lesbian couple “heteronormative” in any way. It doesn’t matter if it’s a butch/femme couple and the butch works as a mechanic while the femme is a stay at home mom who cooks and cleans. A relationship between two girls can never—in any way, shape or form—be heteronormative because it’s not “hetero” at all. It’s literally a relationship between two girls… It will always defy heteronormativity.

it’s interesting how many op-eds were written about how children born in the late 90s-onward were digital natives that would go on to become extremely versatile in tech when the reality is that tech becoming more consumer oriented nipped the incentive for a lot of kids to explore beyond the services offered to them. not knowing how to torrent things is only the tip of the iceberg and tech illiteracy is only going to continue to climb as the cultural shift from computers to phones becomes more pronounced in coming years. I used to joke that people in the late aughts saw laptops as like, $700 facebook machines but the modern comparison is that people see laptops as $1200 subscription service for media they don’t own machines.
