What I like about sleeping bags made of down is that they are easier to fold down and compress. I feel as though they are more durable than synthetic bags. I have different sleeping bags for every season, but I prefer goose down in the winter. This season I decided to invest in a propane heater instead of shivering all night. My mummy sleeping bag is the only one I use in the dead of winter. The materials it’s made of and it’s shape help to keep me warm all through the night until the morning. It’s annoying when your flashlight runs out of battery before the night is over. I always keep spare batteries on me just in case but when I forget to bring them it’s such a pain. I don’t ever purchase a sleeping bag unless it’s machine washable. I like the ease and convenience of being able to throw it in the wash at home while I get other things done. I’ll throw some tennis balls in the dryer with the bag to give it a little oomph. I recently discovered a great solution to one of my camping dilemmas. I never had a good way to be able to dry my dishes after my meals but I figured out that you can purchase a little mesh sack and hang it to dry and not have to worry about it.
