Meet our water babies, as we celebrate our continued love of water 90 years on.
At the time of writing, there are 229 bottles in the Museum of Water Collection. They range from 2 inches to 1 foot high. They are a record of our daily lives, lived with water.
I met Dr Emma Watson in my mid-twenties in the early 2000s. We were both working for a bowel cancer charity; a place which was challenging but encouraged a lot of bowel talk. This kind of envirmonment made it very easy to bond with Emma and we quickly discovered we had a lot in commmon. To this day,
Sue and Paul decide to get a social worker to prepare their deaf daughter for school.
Watched the Silent Child this week. No relevant to my project but a great short film. Loosely based on true accounts The Silent Child is centred around a young deaf girl named Libby who lives in a world of silence until a caring social worker teaches her the gift of communication. The film reflects on the nature and inclusivity of spoken and sign language as well as communication as a whole. Â
WEEK TEN 23th Apr - 27th Apr
Week Nine Evaluation
Unknown I really like the way this text is laid out, it reminds me of the letter press experiments I did at the beginning of the project. It could be an interesting way to do my cover and use all the survey responses.
Swimming hat
RAW sewage has been regularly discharged in the sea off Dorset’s award-winning beaches over the last few weeks because of recent wet weather.
Swim early tomorrow morning has been put on hold as there is a risk that the water quality will not have returned to normal in time. When I started this project I didn’t really know how often pumping excess raw sewage into coastline beaches happened. I especially didn’t consider it would be an issue in Bournemouth as most of the beaches have blue flags. What I have learnt however is that the water quality is only tested during the summer and so over winter sewage is a real problem. In the space of three week swims have been cancelled because of Sewage and pollution problems.Â

THE REMAINS OF 2,649 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN FOUND ON THE US–MEXICO BORDER SINCE 2000. - Colour magazine April 7 2014
Ellie suggested looking at a piece in a magazine called Colour. Whilst looking for the article in question I started looking through their archive of past pieces. This one really caught me eye. Despite being written in 2014 its still really relevant and none of the borders have really changed at all since this article. I like the simplicity of the photos and the composition of them. The ratio whilst also revealing a lot of the landscape narrows the readers focus and makes them feel like their view is obscured slightly.

Project thoughts:
The images are strong enough to be bigger and bolder.Â
Less text, let the images speak for themselves
Take out wetsuitsÂ
Think about what details are important...time/date
The title will come from research so look back at notes.
Overall comments:
Make sure to plan the last two weeks efficiently
Think about what is achievableÂ

GO BIG OR GO HOME
I’ve been thinking about making the book a much larger size. Although initially I didn’t want it to be too big I might play around with making it almost A3 (The largest I can go on a standard printer)
This examples shows the effect that printing large can have on the impact pf a piece.Â
Brighton's historic Christmas Day swim has been cancelled for safety reasons. How dangerous is sea swimming in cold weather?
This year many Christmas Day Swims were cancelled because of the cold and wet weather however over the years there have been very few serious injuries because of the swims. The event is the highlight for christmas for many people and calls into question whether the issue is in the risk or in the preparation.Â
