Probably, but he wouldnt be able to handle her. Jack only knows what he feels, and has little idea of how go do something like that. Sunshine on the other hand has all the know how. She'd have him chasing his tail and be in another country before breakfast.

i was just thinking about the Invitation, and I suddenly recalled something about Jack's parents having a stalker. I wonder if they had anything to do with their deaths? and how bad of a stalker were they? where are they now? in clownjail? 😭 LMFAO

nope! i implied that jack's dad had something to do with the stalker's... disappearance. what that means, no one knows. in terms of how bad they were, i'd rather keep it vague as well, but jack looking back feels a lot of fear and anxiety about that time, noticing signs he didnt think about before. what happened WAS an irregularity in sunnyverse, though.

his parents having a stalker though was actually based on me misreading one of sauce's comics about his parents though haha. i had the idea already set up, then reread it as i was editing and realized i just made that shit up in my brain, then decided fuck it we ball LOL

i wanted to ask smth abt the Invitation cloudytown universe cuz smths been bugging me. are the clowns there like just "confined" to cloudytown? as in the rest of the world are normal like sunshine OR the whole world is just filled with clowns 😭😭 i do remember Jack suggesting that he and sunshine go out of town sometime so i dont think its much of an issue of they r seen.

also, i was curious abt jack being ignorant abt religion (which i suppose could extend to other residents as well) but still knowing about strip clubs and all that? i figured it'd be because most childrens shows dont rlly mention religion?

last question (promise) 😭😭 is the whole solar energy and water powered thingys meant to reflect how their world is more idealized than our because those energy sources are more easily implemented because of the lack of greed in their world? cuz lets be real we could do better if only our corporations stopped trying to impede progress for their own profit 😩

The clowns are NOT confined to Cloudytown. Clowns are the dominant "species" as humans are irl. So there's clown-chicago, clown-new york, etc. Because i know someone will ask no, there's NO clown-9/11 because there's no religion and there's world peace or something.

The short answer is yes and that i thought it would be funny. The long answer is that Sunshine's idea of a strip club and jack's are not the same. Strip clubs in sunnyverse are more like "naturalist" speed dating clubs. Hard to explain but it made sense in my head lol. And yeah theres no religion per sey but there are superstitions.

And yeah, basically.

Question for The Invitation!! If sunshine teleported back to her world one day, how would Jack react to losing sunshine?

He would not handle it well. He likely wouldn't know what happened, and it's that not-knowing that would slowly drive him into a deep, dark hole. Did she leave? Was it against her will? Does she hate him? He won't ever know.

Hey! This question has been nagging at me for a while now. What’s up with Sunshine’s dad? We don’t know anything about him (which makes sense since he’s been gone long before Sunshine was born),but I’m curious as to whom he might’ve been after re-reading the stuff about her mom. Is he dead right now? Alive? How similar are him and Sunshine? How did he and her mom meet?

Also side note: thanks for taking the time to respond to all these questions. I know you’re really busy so it means a lot to that you’d take the time to answer. Thanks again

yes of course <3 i love answering q's for invitation since there was so much i didnt get to put in for the sake of story flow.

i would say..... i don't really know haha. i ran through a lot of iterations as to his role in Sunshine's life. initially he was going to be an abusive jackass that threw sunshine's mom and biggie on the street and then she had sunshine while homeless. another that sunshine's dad was a john from some years as prostituting herself and she never knew who the father was, another that she lost him in an accident the day she found out she was pregnant, another where sunshine was the child of a rape, the classic left for smokes one day and never came back.... i can't even remember how many different iterations i went through, but nothing felt right.

in the end, whatever you imagine is probably the best version of her father and what happened to her mom. i didn't want to illustrate exactly what happened because after a while of thinking of ideas, i started to feel like saying exactly what happened to sunshine's mom and dad would be unnecessary at best and fetishization of a mentally ill woman's pain at worst. i left little breadcrumbs of implication like abuse, death, abandonment, etc so you can try and piece a cohesive story together, but to me it really doesn't make sense for sunshine to know what happened since the only one who could say is biggie and he was too young and had bigger problems around that time. and he's dealing with his own shit so he probably wouldn't tell her anyways. the tone of writing it in always felt off too... sunshine's past is meant to feel full of anxiety and fear, so putting a face in that fear and describing it always felt wrong. it's also why sunshine's flashback while nearly dying is so confusing and fragmented. the good things are what she remembers best, but most of it she tries to push it down.

for similar reasons, i've never gone into what happened to jack's parents.

How would Jack and Sunshine be like if they met earlier? What if they met when they were still in elementary school? Or in middle school? Or high school? Would Jack still like Sunshine or would he be put off by her? Would Sunshine still dislike Jack or warm up to him faster?

More in depth, what would’ve happened if Sunshine was actually transported to Jack’s universe earlier? Sunshine did wonder that in a chapter and I’m curious on your take on it.

TW bullying/physical fighting

So I feel like in every timeline they meet, Jack sort of has a love-at-first-sight moment with Sunshine, and Sunshine is usually disturbed and weirded out by his.... Jack-ness. He's always attracted to her otherworldly energy; her sensibilities and her survival instincts are something pretty much all the clowns in Sunnyverse never developed not just because of how domesticated their world is, but also I sort of see it as a biological predisposition to seeing the world glass-half-full. Sunnyverse is based on 80s children's cartoons where nothing bad ever happens and if it does, everyone is able to cope with it surprisingly well and it all eventually works itself out. Their world functions completely different from ours and so do their brains because they are a completely different species. Realistically speaking, I think Sunnyverse is woefully ill equipped to help a PTSD ridden child from our world that's endured real trauma and pain.

This is all to say, Jack would still very much like Sunshine if they met in elementary school. If Sunshine came to Sunnyverse as a little kid, I think she would be taken care of by a bunch of scientists in a lab, sort of like Eleven from ST, only much more kind and no harmful tests (just stuff like monitoring her basic needs, psychology, brainwaves, and biology). Sunshine would think Jack is a big baby, and probably wouldn't like him very much. She'd be put off by him getting so anxious over everything, and it would stress her out. Eventually I think he would grow on her if they got the chance to play outside together or were stuck playing sports together. With so much support, I think she would become friends with Jack faster than both our Sunshine and high/middle school Sunshine, but I don't know if they'd ever be especially close. I'm not sure if Sunshine would ever be able to get over her sense of uncanniness from this world... after growing up a bit in the 'real' world and then coming to this so young, she would forget a lot, but she'd probably always have this nagging in the back of her head that keeps her from ever fully opening up. I think Jack would sense that and try to bridge the gap, but never be able to and it would be pretty guilt inducing for him.

In middle or high school though.... I hate to say it but I think Sunshine would probably end up bullying Jack? In high/middle school, Sunshine's PTSD worsened with the stress of growing up, which made her have explosive outbursts of anger much more as well. I was pretty vague about it in the story (partially with Sunshine lying through omission) but it's implied Sunshine was a bully in her preteens and teenage years, and physically harmed other students. Put her in a room with teenage Jack? That guy is dead meat. She can smell his fear and insecurity. I have a feeling the sudden departure from her world and losing Biggie would make that even worse and she'd be just looking for a punching bag and Jack is too soft. Jack would definitely feel bad for her and try to befriend this poor interdimensional (cute) girl who has no friends and looks miserable and angry all the time.... then gets a black eye and an empty wallet for his trouble. I think he'd be pretty determined to help her, which would piss Sunshine off even more and make things worse for him. He would definitely be incredibly hurt after a while though, and I like to think they would have a fight of some kind where Sunshine would tell him off for thinking he knows how to 'fix' her, when he has no idea what she's been through. Jack would be even more frustrated by that because she won't even talk about it to anyone. I think he would kind of hate/resent her in this timeline despite being attracted to her, especially once he sees how bad her 'episodes' can get and be on the receiving end of one. However, I think they could become friends eventually if Sunshine manages to get her emotions under control and learns to handle her trauma in a healthier way. She is, deep in her heart, someone who wants to connect with other people meaningfully and is just terrified to do it, and Jack is fairly unscary enough to manage it. If Jack can ever manage to forgive her, she'd become a very loyal friend and bad influence.

Which Dateables is most likely willing to invaded there lover privacy like reading there diary or going through private messages and socials

Starting with the obvious, Fantina and "private" don't exactly connect. You can't post on social media without her seeing it and hearting it the moment it's possible to do so. She would absolutely get into your phone and look at all your DMs, who you follow, what you've been looking at, and probably messes with your algorithm to make it show things she thinks you would like. Your diary is her favorite book.

Curt and Rod probably also take peeks at your diary because they want to know what you really think about everyone and not just the gossip you funnel to them. They're also obviously incredibly tuned into your social media, but they're cheeky about it and follow you on an anonymous side account, occasionally saying things that will have you coming to them later to debrief.

Lyric was your diary before Diana took over, so he already knows all the contents of your entire innermost thoughts. He's just polite enough not to say anything, but he treasure this knowledge very much. He also has all of your old terrible poetry you wrote in your middle school emo phase. He'll never show it to anyone, not even you, because secretly he's very fond of it even though it's bad. Really bad.

Mac also contains many diary entries in their hard drive, not to mention they also know all your search history, all your self insert fanfiction, all your social media clicks, and everything you look up online ever. You don't make a move without them knowing about it online.
