Your body is an incredibly bizarre machine.
“What you see is a myosin protein dragging an endorphin along a filament to the inner part of the brain’s parietal cortex which creates happiness. Happiness. You’re looking at happiness.”

When a man starts explaining a concept you already told him you understand, instead of saying “I know” over and over until you die, try one of these:
Ok, which aspect is confusing you?
It seems like you have the basics down; Would you like me to recommend some good articles so you can get a more nuanced understanding?
So did you have a specific question, or do you just want a more in depth explanation?

You might have noticed that i’m quite fond of birds and i especially like migratory birds. I find it really fascinating that they fly such long distances and must have seen so much(though they probably don’t care what they see-just want to get to places with more food 😂) #wishihadaftereffects #suchanimationswouldbealoteasierthere #crane #kranich #illustration #drawing #illustrationgram #instaillustration #illustrator #Illustrated #illustrationart #instaart #art #artistsoninstagram #digitalart #illustrationoftheday #illustratorsoninstagram #picame #itsnicethat #winter #gif #animatedgif #animation #designspiration #bird #birdlovers #zugvogel #night #day

Finding Balance
If you are looking for balance in your life, stand up straight and breathe deeply. You will find that you are perfectly balanced. Your life may seem more complicated. You may be looking for balance between home and work, proteins and fats, alone time and social time, worry and wonder, serotonin and cortisol, or happiness and sadness. In many of these areas you have balance, in others you may need to create balance.
Creating balance requires changing your behavior and habits. If you begin your day by standing straight and taking a deep breath, you begin your day with balance. If you sit straight for 15-20 minutes and watch your breath, you will see where in your life that you need to create balance. You shouldn’t think about where you need to create balance, you should just focus on your breath. If you do this every day, maybe twice a day, other parts of your life will find their balance.
If you are walking on a tight rope, all you focus on is the rope. There is no room for other thoughts. The rope will hold you up. In you life, your breath is your rope. In anything that you do, you can focus on your breath and you will find balance.
Measuring Yourself
There are all kinds of ways to measure yourself. You can measure yourself in feet, inches, meters, centimeters, pounds, kilograms, stones, degrees fahrenheit, celsius, years, months, IQ, EQ, dollars, cents, Euros, shillings, grades, degrees, personality, friends, happiness, suffering, and so on and so on. All these ways of measuring yourself represent ideas about yourself. Each form of measurement though, is no more real than your Self.
They are all real ideas, just like the idea of your Self is real. Measurements break things down and provide new perspectives on how to look at things. A tree is the height of a tree regardless of meters and inches. We can take the tree and cut it up into 2x4s and we have all kinds of measurements, but no more tree. A year of our lives has so many days and nights and events. Those events go on regardless of how we divide the time.
The idea of a separate Self is just another idea of measurement. Instead of one entire universe, there is a universe made up of so many parts and we count ourselves as one of those parts, separate from the whole. For some reason, that basic measurement, making two out of one adds to our experience of suffering. It’s unfathomable.
Prefer to be defeated in the presence of the wise, than to excel among fools. (Dogen Zenji 1200-1253)

What Bj 581, the “Female Viking Warrior” tells us about assumed gender roles in archaeological inquiry.
While the popular story has been about a female warrior, the real story that underlies this study are the assumptions the researchers just blew out of the water. Hedenstierna-Jonson et al. do not equivocate in their statements that, for over a century, this individual was mis-identified as male because archaeologists, acculturated in a western society with strictly defined gender roles, view men alone as warriors, or soldiers, or wielders of violence. A warrior, like warfare itself, is a cultural construct, practices and professions created by human societies to fulfill specific desires. To assume uncritically that men alone are warriors leads to a cascade of other assumptions about human behaviors that renders our attempt to understand those behaviors somewhat moot.
