Lets take a moment
I’ve moved my blogging to http://anightsmoment.com/ . please direct your browser to there for my future posts.
Updates
So just to give everyone a little update on the status of Renegade Studios. We’ve got our logo as seen by the Renegade Minion set as this blogs logo and the temporary landing page at http://renegadestudios.ca/.
And yes, he is a Minion!
We’ve updated the Renegade Studios Community forums to IPS Community Suite 4, we’ve also enabled login handlers for Linkedin, Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Microsoft Accounts.
We’re working on getting the main site up and running for the summer, by that time this blog will move back to being hosted as part of the website and not on tumblr. Hopefully the transition will be smooth.

Finally
Finally, after two years I’m putting pen to paper again and sketching out a design for the Renegade Studios website. This time I intent to follow through with the complete design too.
The goal with the design?
To showcase our current project(s) and to also showcase the projects we’ve (or I... at the time) have worked on.
The only projects that fall under past projects for Renegade Studios is QuantumRadio, which I plan on bringing back to life within this year as well as Renegade Music which is a Social Media type site.
Anyways back to the main focus of this post...
The design for Renegade Studios will be my first real forray into the modern web, I’ll be using jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3 as well as making it a responsive design. For images used on the main site’s design I’ll be using SVG, which you can already see in the current landing page with the logo.
I made the decision to use SVG since the format itself is responsive.
During my time as a musician, I have greatly enjoyed making music as a hobby. One day, I’d like to bring it above that. But this isn’t really about that.
There’s a certain principle I have held as long as I’ve been doing remixes and covers. I have never asked for money. It seems crazy, especially...
Kitty lovins January 2015
Long time old friend...
* Be warned, this is random thinking at 6AM in the morning before I’ve had any sleep… *
Well this is a shock, I haven’t posted here in a long, long time…
So lets start this off right. It’s 2015 and I have a new position where I work full time as a Database Administrator.
It’s within the same company I’ve worked for since 2009 and even in the same department that I’ve been working in since 2010. I’ve got more (well not really, when you think about it I’ve already been doing about 60-80% of this already…) responsibilties.
Anyways lets not only ramble on about that…
Renegade Studios finally has a logo… Oh that reminds me, we’re working on a game and by we’re I mean my friend Ustad and I, which you can check his blog out over at http://midnightbacklog.com/.
So this game, can you tell us more?
I can only share as much to make you question us ever so more.
The game we’re planning out is set in Egypt, yup. Thats all you’re getting out of me!
Okay, I’ll cave, you get a little more than that. The “game” henceforth known by its internal name as “Project Ra” will be making use of the Unreal Engine 4, I’ve been personally toying with the engine since it was first openly released last year.
So what does this mean for other projects we had going on? Well alot of the projects either stalled or went to the abyss and are either going to be abandoned or at some point I’ll resume work on it.
And?
And what? … Oh… OH! Yea Renegade Studios? yea lets talk about that one MAJOR project…
So with this game, well you see, we needed a name for the company… well… yea Renegade Studios kinda fit… So the game will be released under the Renegade Studio brand as one of our (hopefully) many titles.
So whats the progress on Project Ra anyways? Slow, we came up with the idea at work last summer, Ustad is currently working on the story concept for the project and I’m currently learning how to use Unreal Engine 4 and researching different styles of gameplay so we can decide what direction we want to go with that.
One of the key points though that we have agreeded upon is that it’s not going to be just another shoot em’ up style game. We want the gamers to at least so an interest in what they are experiancing.
So yea, thats what I’ve been up to for the past 7 months or so.

Uh-oh. This song is gonna be stuck in my head for a few weeks.
Welcome Renegade Computers, Goodbye QuantumRadio and RazorIRC
So you maybe wondering why I haven't posted anything here or on the Renegade Studios Blog. Well thats because I've been busy getting a new startup ready.
First the bad news:
I'm getting rid of both RazorIRC and QuantumRadio. With the new start-up I wont really have time for either and to be realistic I haven't worked on RazorIRC for over a year and a half and QuantumRadio... Well I'm just not that interested in doing music sessions anymore. It was fun in 2005, not anymore.
Now the good:
Welcome Renegade Computers, yes all future projects of mine will be tagged Renegade Something. This is going to be my real source of interest for the next few years, I plan on becoming a local system builder based out of Georgetown, ON and plan on servicing Halton Hills (Which Georgetown is a part of), and most of the western side of the GTA and hopefully all of the GTA in the near future.
It's been something I've been contemplating for awhile.
What does this mean for Studios and Music. There still going to be there, Studios will still deal with Web Design and Development, mostly the development side for now. Music, well since I've gotten rid of qR, Music will take on it's Social media role, hopefully in the next year. We also have a few sites that will fall into the Renegade family but not be branded as such.
We currently host Noblenune.com, Karast.ca and ItStartsAtDusk.com which are three Music Artist/producer sites.
We also host Nunewater.ca which is a water delivery service provided within the GTA.
We're also working on TheNAKMedia.com which is a special project.
So it's going to be another busy year.
I think EDM, as it stands now, can easily be summed up into 3 parts… Product, art and execution. And its really just a mater of how all 3 are balanced.
some artists are all about the product… some are about the art… and some are about the execution… but more often than not, you’ll find the more...
Moving back...
So been ages since I last posted... Anyways...
I'm moving all sites that I host back to physically hardware. I've made this decision as it's more costly for me to manage every aspect myself... That said SiteKore and SiteManager are still happening but with a bit of a different flair. SiteManager will hopefully tie into the new cPanel/WHM backend of my dedicated server.
The new server is hosted by iWeb Technologies based out of Montreal.
The config that I've gone with was their lowest SmartServer configuration.
Current Specs
CPU Intel i3-2100
Core(s) 2
Speed 3.1GHz
RAM 4GB
RAID Type RAID 1 Software
Hard Drive(s) 2x 1000GB
Available Storage 1000GB
Time to get to work!
So I've been MIA for the past couple of months. Been busy durring my day job ... >.>
Anyways I've been working on prototyping the website for Noble One, a local Canadian music artist. (I'm waiting on the colours for the album artwork so I can base the colour scheme off of his album).
I've also been working on the control panel backend for sites that I host for these clients, so far it's been rough. I'm trying to base some of the functionality off of ISPConfig 3, as thats what I'm currently using, but ISPConfig isn't designed for cloud based hosting. I was looking at Scalr but thats just far from what I want.
So I've been working on rolling my own, basic/user friendly panel, it's to use Larevel as it's core framework.
I'll be making the panel work with both desktop and mobile browsers (as in responsive :P) so I can fix anything that comes up while I'm at my day job.
It's also a matter of I hate how ISPConfig set everything up... Right now because of how things are set up I have to both manually configure things (eg DNS via the amazon Route53 panel) via the Amazon Web Services admin panel and ISPConfig. I also hate how ISPConfig configures the shell access, it creates a new shell user for just one domain... What if I have multiple domains for one user!?
Thats why theres times I regret moving from Dreamhost ... Their panel made sense.
