Haruka had gone swimming by himself more than a few times already, and despite how he would always say that he couldn’t care less about competition, timing and winning and such, he doesn’t hate the thrill of competing.
But there’s nothing he can do about it, is there? With a sigh, he let his legs bring him wherever.
Walking aimlessly, he noticed a certain red head in the distance, all by himself. Awfully familiar to a certain red headed friend of his. Curious, he had his legs bring him closer, close enough to hear him mumbling.
There was no mistake.
"The pool is not that way, Rin." Despite his deadpan look, one could hear him smiling.
Flinching slightly, Rin's head snapped forward; he knew that voice oh so well, and while he could have denied that he was really there and his mind was playing tricks on him, he certainly knew better. "Haru--?" No need to question what you already know, Rin. Haru is right in front of you and you know it. "Wait wait-- when did you get here?" A delayed response, surely, but it took a moment for Rin to get to his feet and make his way over to his friend. Unconsciously, trying to sneak a glance at the mark on the other's wrist and failing. A sweater, of course. "Hold on, did you say pool?" Despite his own exploration, a pool was not something the redhead had discovered yet.
"A pool, huh... You know what that means, right?" With a grin, he didn't even give Haru a chance to answer him. "You and I are long overdue for a race, Nanase."
