He just broke up with me about a week and a half ago. We had been together 3 ½ years. Some of that was long-distance. He was supposed to come back this June and suddenly he said he wasn’t going to anymore, at least not yet. I asked if there was someone else & he said no. I honestly believe that part. I begged him to re-think it or at least stay with me while he figured it out, but he refused. We had kept acting like a couple up until last Thursday night when he said he was finally gonna change everything on social media (he hasn’t even done it yet & it’s now Monday). He’s been calling me only once at night. Yesterday he didn’t, so I just wanted to make sure he was fine. He said he’d stayed out & i made a joke about hoping he didn’t get laid so soon & said that i loved him. He didn’t reply so i told him to not leave me hanging after what I said. He got a bit bothered & didn’t say he loved me back. I apologized but that i’m just real sensitive right now & thought we were still saying “i love you” so I just wanted to be on the same page. Then these are the txts that followed. Hasn’t replied & don’t think he will.. 💔

We had been dating for five years, long distance. Just as I was about to buy my plane ticket to go move in with him on the other side of the country, we got into a huge fight due to his jealousy and he told me we were over..

Him - “Im sorry…I have to go…I love you…”

Me - “Don’t leave..please..I know what you do when you’re upset, I won’t let you go through that again”

Him - “You can’t help me anymore, Elizabeth. But I don’t regret a single thing and neither should you.”

Me - “Eli I will live every day in regret if I can’t help you, please, no more of this..”

Him - “At least you’ll live..”

I called him over and over and he never answered the phone..the next day I checked his facebook and it was nothing but “RIP Elijah”

I could have saved him. I should have saved him. I’ll live each day with regret baby..I never said it back..I love you too.
