Wandering through the forest, Setsuna was, for once, on edge and her eyes were consistently flickering from spot to spot. Her whole body was tense and her heart, while racing, was being held in the background to keep her wits about her at all times.Â
After all, itâd be a shame to waste an opportunity such as this by being her usual carefree self⊠wouldnât it? Sheâd finally managed to tag along with Lord Takumi during a hunt, so she had to bring her A-game.Â
She didnât particularly want to get on the bad side of Lady Hinokaâs brother, even though heâd been super nice to her all this time, so the least she could do was not screw this upâŠ
Her cerulean eyes were drawn to something in Takumiâs quiver. Of course, it was an arrow, but the end of the arrow was the interesting part. The fins⊠the fletch on the end, Takumiâs looked real nice. Such a pretty colour tooâŠ
Absently, her fingers were already lightly brushing against the feathery vanes, a soft smile drawing to her lips and a slow giggle slipping from her throat.
âLord Takumi⊠the fletches of your arrows are very prettyâŠ! I think iâm a little enviousâŠâ
While he should have been paying a little more attention to the woman accompanying him, Takumi pressed through the forest as though he were alone. His pace constantly changed between fast and slow, footsteps always near silent as he hunted around for prey. He was focused, and heâd finally started to find a trail for something worthwhile.
His pace slowed again, looking about. They had to be getting close to something. He was about to draw his bow when he felt his companion touch the arrows -- it was a subtle additional weight, but it hadnât been there before, and the voice that followed confirmed it.
âYes-- theyâre unique, arenât they?â He looked at the single arrow heâd held in his hand alongside the bow. âThey were crafted for me. Theyâre supposed to represent me, or something like that.â It was things like this he -- unintentionally -- took for granted until they were acknowledged by someone else. He loved the arrows, however, even if he didnât use them very often. He kept them primarily for hunting, since he didnât want to use the Fujin Yumi for such a task.
