percabeth is so buzzy this season it's really reminding me why they were one of the first ships i was ever ride or die for
slight spoiler for ep 5 of pjo s2 but also not really
I feel like every time we see Polyphemus in media (epic for example) he's never the big bad like hes always the dumb cyclops thats easily defeated even in the pjo books he was always secondary in my mind (with grover missing, thalia and percy parallels, etc, etc) so I LOVE this new change from the pjo show to make him more of an imposing force and an actual enemy (also like how they arent picking and choosing what cyclops's are "allowed" to be smart) which also gives the book readers genuine shock
And of course Luke walks away with Annabeth and the Fleace, I mean what else was he gonna do? Something good? No why would he do that?
Luke this last episode and in the season finale
So true deli lady just raise them brows! Welcome back Sally Jackson!!!
Why is nobody talking about the fact that, despite all the talk, Clarice runs to protect Annabeth as soon as she heard they could kill her and Percy runs to get the fleece the moment Annabeth came up with a plan? The entire season there is this debate about demigod VS human, duty VS heart and this moment fully brings the point home: it doesn't have to be one or another. Both Percy and Clarice end up changing their priority of action as they go and everything works out because they inadvertently work TOGETHER.
If the actor that plays Paul Blofis isn’t super hot I will genuinely be so upset he needs to be the hottest man that ever walked the earth Sally deserves it
No but it's wild that people are calling tv!Percabeth rushed when they become explicitly romantic 6 months from now in the story.
Like, Percy is about to almost have a panic attack about Annabeth potentially being a hunter in 6 months and she is going to refuse immortality first before him.
If you tell this to a pjotv hater, they’ll explode.
imagine you're having a fight with your father and then boom it's suddenly years later and you've just been unfrozen from being a tree in a summer camp to find the little girl you've raised with your found family brother/soulmate who just turned evil and began following the primordial time master, has grown up and adopted a tiny blonde white boy to protect her and also we're at war and your name is thalia grace
I fear change thalia’s story line that she was not turned into a tree to save her life, but rather because she stood up to her father and refused to be his weapon is the BEST change of the pjo show yet!! way to make my girl even more tragic <3 and
BOOK SPOILERS
makes her decision to join the hunters a big middle finger to zeus. (it also makes her decision even more understandable than it already was, passing off the great prophecy to percy- not because she wants to burden him with it, but because it ensures that zeus cannot use her one way or another).
all in all, thalia grace is the THEE girl forever <3
i’m still stuck on poseidon’s line from 2x08.
“there are forces more powerful than the will of the gods, my son. fate is one of them. love, another.”
this is truly just the thesis of percy jackson. this whole story is about fate and love and how these forces collide and create all these circumstances.
poseidon’s love for sally is the reason percy was born. sally’s love for percy is the reason he becomes the hero who saves the world. luke’s love for thalia and his pain in her absence is part of the reason he joins kronos. annabeth’s love for luke is the reason he takes the knife at the end of the last olympian. percy’s love for his friends drives his actions throughout the entire series. and all these things were fated to happen.
it’s like the gods are the most powerful beings in this world. and yet. love is even stronger. everything happens in this story because of love. or because of the absence of it. something even the gods can’t change or prevent. fate and love being so intertwined and being the main driving forces of the story are so important to me.
New bts pic of season 3 and you can see the Hunters in the background!
I like the stuff in the show that’s a little darker because it’s more Greek that way. Greek mythology is dark as fuck, those people loved a tragedy.
Just gonna say that whether you love or hate the show, it’s important for kids/early teen stories about bravery and friendship and good overcoming evil to be made. I see a lot of people wanting the show to be canceled because it doesn’t follow the books 100% and you’re right, it changes a lot and you’re entitled not to like it. But kids NEED a show like this in today’s age where a lot of what is pushed out as teen media is actually very adult in content.
So yeah just, please remember that Rick also has a good heart and is trying to tell a good story with this show. I’m not saying good in terms of whether YOU like it or not, but good in terms of the lessons it’s trying to impart. The renewals for season 4-5 have not been announced, but it’d be a great thing for the business of renewing tv series if it were to see a conclusion, especially because we so rarely get that from networks nowadays
the way percy automatically straightens his back, chin up, and stares thalia down when she turns to look at him. and then she does the same to him, while subtly pushing annabeth behind her protectively. the thunder, lightning and rain in the background. they're like two attack dogs measuring each other up. absolute cinema.
wow Percy Jackson is such a great story I wish nice 12 year olds were real
