His brother’s words simply made him grin and he shrugged a little. “Yea, … I can’t help it. We’re always getting in trouble and … I do know it wouldn’t happen if I were just, human.” He slowly shook his head however at the suggestion of Evan leaving him to get something. “Could you just stay here a bit? At least ‘till the healing kicks in?” 

Of course he was hurting, Scott knew very well that he’d almost been dead … again. But he was pretty hard to kill, and while he knew his brother worried about him a lot, he knew that he would probably be fine in the end. Things would be far worse if it’d been Evan that’d gotten hurt. 

❝    yeah,  of  course,    ❞    evan  immediately  replies.  there’s  no  way  he’s  leaving  his  brother    (    except  to  get  him  something,  if  needed    )    until  he  knows  for  sure  that  scott’s  going  to  be  okay.  he  knows  that  the  werewolf  has  accelerated  healing  abilities  that  will  hopefully  kick  in  very,  very  soon,  but  that  doesn’t  mean  things  can’t  and  won’t  still  go  WRONG...  especially  knowing  their  luck.  he’s  going  to  keep  a  close  eye  on  the  other  twin    ―    seeing  him  get  hurt  so  badly  had  been  extremely  terrifying,  to  say  the  least.    ❝    do  you  want...  uh,  would  a  distraction  help,  maybe    ??    we  could  watch  a  movie  or  something.    ❞

Kira couldn’t help but smile softly at the words from the alpha. It was nice hearing that he was there for her because right now she didn’t have the feeling that she had all that much support from anyone really. Her mother especially seemed reluctant to teach her anything about herself and the fox inside her. 

“Well uhm … you, uh … you had to get used to your wolf right? I mean, get to know what you could do and all that. My mom seems set on not helping me so, do you think you could help me figure things out? I have no idea what being a fox even means.”

❝    i  did.  it  was...  a  big  adjustment,    ❞    he  answers,  able  to  clearly  remember  how  scary  it  had  been  to  feel  so  out  of  control  and  also  not  have  a  clear  idea  about  what  was  happening  to  him.  lycanthropy  is  easier  to  deal  with  now,  but  he  still  gets  OVERWHELMED  sometimes...  just  like  kira  obviously  is  right  then.  scott  is  able  to  relate  on  a  level  that  most  people  can’t,  which  makes  him  all  the  more  determined  to  help  the  kitsune.    ❝    you  don’t  even  have  to  ask.  i  was  thinking  maybe  we  should  start  by  talking  to  deaton,  if  you’re  okay  with  that    ??    and  then  we’ll  do  some  research  together,  or  whatever  else  it  takes;  things  got  better  for  me  and  i  know  they  will  for  you,  too.  i’m  sure  of  that.    ❞

No matter how hard Scott tried, everything always seemed to come down to the same thing. And while he knew what he wanted, and who he was, those moments always made him feel so small and uncertain. He new there were people who accepted him, but each time again one single hateful glance was enough to shatter him. 

At least at home he felt safe. And with his twin and mother always there to support him and pick him up when he was down, he usually found the energy to keep going rather easily. But nonetheless, the moment Evan mentioned staying home felt like a relief, a weight falling off his shoulders. “Honestly, … I’d love that.” He smiled and nodded. “School is really just … making it all even harder. As if everything else isn’t enough yet … I don’t know how others do it.”

evan  pulls  away  from  the  hug  enough  to  give  his  brother  an  encouraging  smile  and  luckily  manages  to  keep  his  FURY  out  of  his  expression.  he’s  not  mad  at  scott,  after  all.  definitely  not.  he  doesn’t  have  to  witness  what’s  going  on  to  know  that  the  older  twin  never  actually  does  a  thing  to  antagonize  the  guys  who  constantly  give  him  hell.  they’re  simply  cruel  for  no  reason  at  all,  which  makes  it  all  the  more  frustrating…  and  harder  to  stop.  OBVIOUSLY  evan’s  still  going  to  try,  though.  he’d  be  a  pretty  shitty  sibling  if  he  didn’t.    ❝    alright.  we’ll  take  the  day  off.  it’s  gonna  be  fun    ―    and  it’ll  be  a  good  chance  for  you  to  forget  all  about  the  assholes  at  school,  too.    ❞    evan  could  read  scott  more  than  well  enough  to  know  that  he  desperately  needed  that.

Stiles leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest, raising an eyebrow. “Yea well you left out one bit too … I’m the only human in the pack. I’m the … weak link.” He narrowed his eyes and simply shrugged before sighing. “Listen, Scott … I’m fine. I just have trouble focusing lately, but well who wouldn’t right? We beat one villain and the next swoops in. It’s almost like those tv shows where they never cut the good guys any slack.” 

He was trying to write it off on being tired, and he knew that Scott would probably see right through it. But he was simply tired of everyone looking at him and seeing that weak as fuck human. Sure, Stiles had started out like that, but he’d been training and he was strong now. He was no longer that fragile thin guy that got his mind taken over because he didn’t know how to shut a mental door. He was stronger mentally and physically, but people seemed to forget that sometimes. 

scott’s  little  grin  fades  as  he  listens  to  stiles.  it’s  common  knowledge  that  their  life  is  stressful    &    scary,  and  getting  overwhelmed  by  that  at  times    ??   well,  it  only  makes  sense.  what  he  DOESN’T  like  to  hear  is  his  best  friend  being  so  hard  on  himself    ―    stiles  may  be  human,  but  he’s  an  essential  member  of  the  pack.  scott  never  has  and  never  will  think  otherwise.    ❝    yeah,  it’s...  we  don’t  get  much  of  a  break,    ❞    he  agrees.  it’s  one  thing  after  another  in  their  town  that  just  so  happens  to  be  a  magnet  for  the  supernatural.    ❝    you’re  not  a  weak  link,  though,  stiles,  i  promise.  you’re  strong  and  you’re  smart...  a  lot  smarter  than  me.  i  never  would’ve  gotten  this  far  without  your  plans    &    ideas,  or  without  your  help.  hell,  i’d  probably  be  dead.    ❞    that's  just  the  TRUTH.  stiles  has  stood  by  his  side  ever  since  the  moment  he  was  bitten  and  that  constant  support  is  an  invaluable  source  of  empowerment  for  scott  to  draw  on.  he  tries  again  to  bolster  the  other  teen’s  sprits  with  a  teasing,  yet  accurate,  joke.    ❝    besides,  you  really  know  your  way  around  a  baseball  bat.  not  having  claws    &    fangs  doesn’t  make  you  useless.    ❞

this  BARELY  qualifies  as  a  headcanon  lmao    (    yes,  i’m  shitposting  at  10am    )    but  i’ve  been  thinking  about  scott  playing  among  us  lately  and  he’d  be  such  a  terrible  imposter.  stiles  can  probably  always  tell  immediately  and  calls  him  out  on  being  sus.  he’d  also  let  players  with  pets  live  for  as  long  as  possible  because  he  just  doesn’t  like  to  see  them  abandoned.  as  a  crewmate,  tho    ??    10/10,  he  does  his  tasks  quickly  and  gives  lots  of  helpful  information  when  reporting  bodies  :’)
