• Please don’t god-mod or metagame. It’s not fun for anyone if your muse somehow knows details about my muse they’re not supposed to, or if you write what my muse is doing. It is fine however if you mention a small action that would make sense in continuation of something my muse did in a previous reply.
• I am mutuals only, although I am not very selective. This rule is only to help me keep track of who I roleplay with, as it’s easier to remember people’s url if I can see them in my followed tab .If you’re interested in interacting, feel free to follow me and I’ll check your blog. If your roleplay blog is a sideblog please have it written somewhere or give me a heads up, as I don’t want personals following me and might block you if I don’t know you have a sideblog; MINORS DNI
• If I follow you, I’ll generally wait around one or two weeks if you’re active, or more if you’re low activity, to see if you follow me back. When it’s not the case,most of the time i simply unfollow.
• If you follow me and have not been followed back after a month, you are free to send me an ask about it. Chances are I simply forgot.
• My activity here is very sporadic. There will be times where I post everyday, and others where I may not post anything for weeks. Please be patient. I am physically and mentally disabled, and while I don’t have a job, I don’t always have the energy or motivation to write. A lot of the times I have brain fog that makes it difficult to concentrate. I also struggle with memory issues.
• English is not my first language. I have been fluent in it for years, but there are still moments where even simple mistakes evade me. You are welcome to kindly point these out to me. Please just don’t be rude about it.

Made on a Homeworld colony 15000 years ago, Aquamarine is an high ranked gem whose role is to maintain order. They have the ability to control a gem thoughts and movements, but that ability is tiring for both parties if used too much.
When first emerged, they didn't think to much of their purpose, because that's what they were made for. But they quickly noticed other gems were scared of them, and so they began hating their power and their role.
They were powerful, and they were praised, but praised out of fear. And that was nothing that Aquamarine wanted.
4000 years after they first emerged, they met Citrine, a gem from Yellow Diamond's court who unlike other gems, didn't seem afraid of Aquamarine. She seemed… interested instead, and asked Aqua to let them but their personal guard.
Aqua accepted, seeing no harm in that. But what they didn't know was that the quartz was only interested in their power. Citrine wanted Aqua's power for herself, and she wouldn't let anything or anyone stop her.
At first Citrine did her job just like she was supposed to, being Aquamarine's personal guard when they needed to go to places. But when Citrine and Aqua were back in Aqua's quarters, she began to ask questions. A question that at first, could sound logical to ask, asking them why they didn't just use their power if someone tried to attack them.
Aqua began to think about it. After all why didn't they use their power more?
It made them tired. They could see the look in other gems' eyes after they used their power. They could the fear, they could hear the whispers.
This power was a curse.
But the quartz wanted to hear none of it. She didn't want to hear any of Aqua's reasons, couldn't possibly understand how anyone wouldn't want this power. With this power she could make anyone praise her.
After a few years, her attitude soon began to change. She was still asking the same question again and again. Why didn't Aqua use their power more? But now with the question, began the insults. It was only once in a while at first.
Aqua just ignored it. Surely Citrine would change. If they told anyone, the quartz would get shattered, and the beryl couldn't live with this on their conscience. So they let her.
But the insults were soon doubled. It was more often, and more insults. Citrine continued to ask Aqua why they wouldn't use their power more often. Telling them they should use their power because, without it, they were nothing. No matter how much Aqua tried to explain they didn't want to use their power more than they had to.
They were tired of Citrine's insults, tired of her attitude towards them. It had been going on for over two hundred years. Why was she obsessed with their power in the first place? But they knew she would get shattered if they spoke about it. So they just tried to reason with her, tried explaining why they didn't want to use their power for unnecessary reasons, and told Citrine she had to stop otherwise they would have to have her shattered.
But it just made Citrine laugh internally. She knew Aqua was to much of a wimp to do so.
So she continued to insult them, with the goal to break them. She wanted to break Aqua mentally. She wanted to prove to them she was better than them, that they were nothing without their power. All of that in the goal to make them use their power on other gems to praise Citrine. And she wouldn't stop before she got to this goal.
So she continued the insults, and everyday she was calling Aqua worthless,saying that they were a waste of resources, telling them they were weak for not using their power to make everyone bend to their will at all times, that their power was too great for them. She would also tell them she should have had that power instead, because at least she would use it how it was meant to be used.
Aqua was afraid. They weren't meant for fighting but Citrine was, so they couldn't fight her. They only had two options : denounce Citrine, which would end in her being shattered. Or use their power on her to make her stop. None of these options sounded like good options to Aqua.
This went on for a hundred years before Aqua snapped and used their power on Citrine to force her to be quiet while she was insulting them again.
Citrine was ecstatic. She had proven her point; Aqua couldn't do anything without their power. Her plan was beginning to work.
But Aqua was horrified, ashamed of themself. They couldn't stop blaming themself, thinking surely what Citrine was doing wasn't as bad and that they had overreacted by forcing her to shut up with their power,that they were in the wrong.
Citrine's attitude towards the beryl completely changed once more. She began to praise them instead.
Praised them for finally getting stronger. Finally using their power.
But Aqua tried explaining to her that it was a mistake, they never meant to do that. They kept apologizing over and over, crying as they repeated that it was a mistake.
Citrine just told them that it wasn't a mistake. It was only the first step. Aqua was confused but didn't bother asking about it,scared of what the answer could be. The only positive thing was that the insults from Citrine had stopped. But the beryl couldn't understand why she was praising them instead. She was just acting like other gems now.
Citrine, meanwhile, continued to shower Aqua in praise about how they finally were getting stronger. Aqua wasn't used to hearing positive feedback from her, and they felt conflicted about it. On one hand it was better than the insults. But on the other hand, they had started to believe every negative thing Citrine had told them, and they still felt guilty for using their power on her.
Feeling like her plan wasn't working fast enough, Citrine starting going back and forth between insult and praise,leaving the other gem confused. Aqua didn't know what to expect anymore. But they didn't want to hear the insults anymore. They had finally gotten used to the praise from Citrine, and they wanted to hear more of it. They needed her to tell them they were good enough.
So they did something they still regret to this day. They asked Citrine what she wanted them to do, how they could get stronger. Citrine didn't care about Aqua being strong. She just wanted to make them believe they were strong. She just wanted Aqua to use their power on other gems to shower Citrine in compliments, but she would never tell to Aqua that they were being used. Not directly.
Citrine told Aqua to invite a gem to their quarters. Not questioning why, Aqua invited a random Amethyst in their quarters, who was confused as to what she was doing here. But Aqua could only think of one thing:if they used their power on this gem, Citrine would tell them they were good and would say they were getting stronger. When Citrine told them to make the Amethyst compliment her, they obeyed, forcing the words out of the purple gem. Afterwards, the Amethyst left, with no memory of what happened
This went on for eight hundred years. Aqua would invite a gem, make them compliment Citrine. Citrine would then compliment Aqua.
The guilt the beryl felt before regarding their power was gone. All they cared about now was Citrine's approval and validation. But the constant use of their power was making them tired. Citrine didn't care about it.
But there was one gem who grew tired of it all: Aqua's Pearl, Cyan. She had kept quiet all those years but couldn't bear to see the gem Aqua had become. But the situation was too much for her, and she couldn't stay here doing nothing anymore. Surprisingly for everyone including herself she was able to summon a weapon, a mace she used to poof Citrine as she had her back turned.
But Aqua's reaction wasn't the one Cyan had expected. They looked angry and stressed, almost hitting Cyan, yelling, asking the other gem why she would do that,to which the taller gem had no response, simply looking at Citrine's gem on the floor.
Because Citrine could reform at any moment and because she didn't know how to bubble gems, Cyan was about to shatter Citrine before Aqua stopped her and bubbled the gem themself.
They wanted to let Citrine reform but they also wanted to hear Cyan's explanation as to why she did what she did.
Cyan explained everything, how Aqua had changed and how Cyan couldn't recognize them anymore, how they were being used by Citrine, and how Cyan couldn't bear to watch anymore. But Aqua was in complete denial. They were important to Citrine. They were not being used.
But Cyan was not going to give up so easily.
She repeatedly explained to Aqua how Citrine didn't care about them and how she was only interested in their power, how Aquamarine would have never yelled at Cyan before that.
Although Aqua didn't believe Cyan on the fact Citrine didn't care about them, they trusted her and knew she was right about Aqua never raising their voice at her, and they knew Cyan knew them better than any other gems.
With her advice they kept Citrine bubbled, but it was difficult. Aqua wanted to let her out. They still didn't want to believe they were being used. It took over a thousand year to accept it was a fact, during which time Citrine was still bubbled.

Citrine accepted but not without the promise to come back.
After that, Aqua got two new ruby guards instead,who did their job exactly how they were supposed to.
Earth Verse
Fearing Citrine would come back, Aqua fleed Homeworld thousands of years later, but without being able to bring Cyan and the Rubies with them. They still regret it to this day. They arrived on Earth right as the gem war was happening and had to fight in it for a bit, forced to use their power to defend themself due to not having a weapon. They quickly fleed again hiding in caves where there were no humans or gems. They avoided corruption by being in a cave at the time of the attack.
Homeworld Verse
They stayed on Homeworld, continuing to hate the way it worked. They were also afraid of Citrine coming back but it seemed like the quartz had disappeared. When Era 3 started they were one of the the first to celebrate.
