Do You Know || Meixin & Derek
Meixin woke up late since her shift started later in the day and decided to just head down to the Inn since she had nothing better to do. She took a long hot shower and made sure to wash her hair as well so it smelled like strawberries, after she blow dried her hair she put on her clothes for the inn and continued on down the stairs with her messenger bag full of art supplies. She slipped on her flats and went to the back of the place she lived at and pulled out her light blue bike, getting on she peddled down the road and on down to the inn. As she peddled she passed by a dark figure with orange brown hair, she turned back to get a better look at him but was forced to turn back to face forward so she wouldnât crash into anything.
Mei after she parked her bike in the back of the inn she walked in from the back door, she sat on the bartenders side of the counter and pulled out her sketch pad and began drawing the inside of the inn blindly. It seems that she had been working there for so long that she knows what the inn looks like from just her mind, she was even able to draw the inn with her eyes closed. She knew the place inside and out and probably would owe it to the manager and the boss to give her this job even at a young age. She continued to draw and sketch and even added shades of color, Mei even thought of turning the page over and drawing what behind the counter looked like with the drinks and cups stacked up.Â
As she drew and sketched her heart out her pencil finally broke.Â
"Oh no⊠That was the only pencil I brought with meâŠ" She sucked her teeth and went through her bag looking for another pencil until she finally found a green, only for her butter fingers to suddenly drop the pencil under the counter and to the other side. She went to follow it and crouched down under a personâs stool.
"Iâm sorryâŠ" She tapped the persons leg. "I dropped my pencil can you grab it for me? Its under the counter near your stoolâŠ"
Having been called in for an earlier shift at work, Derek had opened the restaurant and the only thing on his mind until he left was how much he hated waking up so early. It didât really help that with the new additions in the sharehouse meant adapting to more changes and often times that including less sleep. Even in a vampireâs body it seemed to make him more irritable (or perhaps it had more to do with the memory of it), but once heâd gotten outside, Derek felt a little better.
Rather than going straight home, the orange haired male passed his road and ventured towards the inn â heâd had yet to actually go there and see what it was all about, and considering he had nothing else to do for the day, felt that this was the best way to spend his it.
He hadnât really banked on getting anything (one of the waitresses seemed less than pleased heâd just ordered a glass of water), but Derek simply sat in peace as he watched everyone in the main room, chin propped up on his hand. Heâd nearly leaped out of his skin when someone touched his leg, but the girlâs voice distracted him enough to get him to focus. âUh, yeah, sorry about that,â the vampire murmured quietly, stretching to grab her pencil for her. âHere you go ââŠ?â
When heâd turned to return her pencil, Derek caught a glimpse of her face and squinted in disbelief. âEvelyn? Is that⊠Is that you?â There was no way. Evelyn â here? Now? He had to have been dreaming.
Mei as the male handed her the pencil she smiled and took the pencil but he didn't let go until a name left his lips. Evelyn. Meixin, rather confused looked at the man in the stool and blinked.Â
"Excuse me?" She asked confused and got the pencil out of his hands. It turns out she was the many doppelgangers of Evelyn and seemed to have looked just looks like her, with her long blonde hair and light pink lips the only difference was that her eyes were a dark brown.Â
"Im sorry, my name isn't Evelyn... My name is Meixin..." She spoke softly afraid the male would start yelling at her for his own simple mistake, its happened to her before so why wouldn't it happen again? She wondered to herself a bit before clumsily dropping the pencil again.Â
"Oh geez how many times am I going to drop this pencil?" She crouches down slowly and picks up the pencil before turning on her heels and walks about to the other side of the counter and sat two stools away from him and began to sketch the inn again, This time she turned the page and simple began to draw to rooms inside the inns, from a queen sized bed and a twin sized bed and little nightstands and such to hold the customers clothes.Â
