A first look at a book illustration for my novel The Hoard of Don Vallus!

Rin was told to stay in her room.

She does not do that.

She is very leetle compared to the big terrible man.

Little style experiment to try and find a 'traditional' charcoals or chalk vibe. Don Vallus makes a good candidate because he's shiny so the colors can be all over the place.

(And I hardly need the excuse to draw his smug face over and over anyway.)

I had a dream that was in a crazy vector-like animated style about this guy and I had to try drawing it when I woke up.

(It was lineless in the dream.)

(I don't like drawing lineless art.)

(Even though I think it looks really cool.)

A cover (front and back) for a poetry book I had the pleasure of working on! Taking a lot of inspiration from our own local beaches and sandy patches of dune grass.

A commission from early this year to redraw the client's family farm from a grainy and faded photograph. I enjoyed the challenge and change of pace from my usual work!
