While Bleu still feels very much like a wolpertinger, I'm feeling more and more like a merperson. Maybe I've been one all along, I've felt a strong connection to the sea and storms and maritime disasters and lore and history.
I made this months ago, but I wanted to showcase my chibi PNGtuber! I'll use this on other people's Twitch streams & on my own Twitch channel upon occasion.

Teknon the Ikhthudion
Made an updated lil 3D model of the character (Teknon) I designed for my since-abandoned thesis, Ikhthudion. Teknon is a juvenille ikhthudion who lives alone in a rusted metal unit at the bottom of the coral shallows. Every day they pack their pearls chains, grab their jelly lantern, grab their broken but beloved ocarina, and venture out onto their krill and vegetable farm--well, they live there, but they're too young to run it, even if they're the only one there.
After grabbing some veggies, they pass through the bubble netting that keeps the krill in, through the golden kelp forest where the friendly cyclotters live, and then deeper, into the market run by fellow ikhthudion. The adults run stands such as a butchery, a shiny shell shop, and seaweed fabric store; Teknon, bearing kelp from the forest as a gift from the otters, barters a few veggies (read: lords their status over him with a side of teeth gnashing) with the butcher for his finest cut of sea wagyu. They then get Granny Music at the instrument stall to fix their ocarina, even though she's starting to lose count of how many times she's repaired it.
Then it's down to the edge of the continental shelf, where some more dangerous flora and fauna live. Taking a rock to weight them down, they jump over the edge, deeper and deeper past strange and frightening creatures, until they land at the bottom. They settle down, take out their ocarina, and blow a single, loud, magical note.
It's answered by a much louder one, and from the darkness comes an abyssal dragon, woken by their note. Teknon isn't frightened, however; this is their friend! With all the ingredients they've gathered, they make a giant sushi roll. The dragon gets the lion's share, but Teknon can't each much more than a tiny sliver, given how tiny they are! They hug and roughhouse, and somehow their ocarina always gets broken.
This is an open species, if y'all want to make any ikhthudion of your own! Just tag me with credit please ^^

More mermay drawings
I feel like something just looks off about this one.
This one I picture as the merman swimming and the bird guy flying over him
I drew a sea serpent mer for mermay! Ran out of time and energy for coloring it in but I still like it
