ANGER coils in the depths of her stomach, like a snake poising itself to strike & her teeth ache as they collide in a grimace to cage the m o n s t e r that waits in her chest; eyes blazed & jowls dripping. it is enough to send a QUAKE through her body that must be quelled with the deep intake of fresh air. the bitter taste of joohyun’s betrayal sits on her tongue, still, & it is a taste only to be washed with the blood that will pour from the politicians throat into her WAITING MAW.
a soft voice reels her back, the final tether with which she can ground herself to this earth & this life she has built. a life that songyi would be a part of, if renora had any say. the mafioso turns, the metallic crimson of her irises released like a flood gate until the mocha hue is all that remains. she does not wish to concern her paramour.
“ darling, “ she breathes, fangs abating until ivory pillars flash what is to be a convincingly faux smile. visage softens, “ i thought you asleep. “

“i know who it is, don’t worry,” she says, half dismissive as she tilts her smart-watch the retinal scanner unlocking so she can quickly view the message ( sent by george ) flicking over a quick reply and re-locking it with a swipe of her thumb. “checking in, i have about two hours to kill before i have some business to take care of, so we’d best be on our way.”
“there’s no point in DRAWING ATTENTION to myself, darkness and shadows and blending in; that’s what i prefer,” lindy explains, walking out the door that she’d entered through only twenty-five minutes earlier. she pauses as well, bathing in the sunlight as dahlia talks cocking her head slightly to the side and giving an easy smile; “well… call it the INVERSE, typically men but i’m not at all closed minded.”
two hours was ample time to make an impression, though she knows she’ll be hard pressed for much more. the blonde draws near to the car, where the chauffeur stands with the door open, waiting patiently. dahlia motions for lindy to enter first before sliding in behind her. it’s no limo, but it’s lavish -- though the unassuming exterior didn’t boast of much. speaking of blending in & shadows --
her gaze sweeps back to the other, brow raised ever so slightly. “ i’d imagine you’d have to be quite OPEN MINDED to accept my invitation; unless of course you’re just in it for free sushi. “ a wrinkle of her nose, “ either way, i’m glad for your company. “ the driver is alerted of their plans & the car rolls into motion.
“ so what date do i have to get to in order to get your REAL NAME? “

it’s not a statement, it’s not an offer, it’s a threat. she’s spent a good time making her niche of vegas her own. the underdog and the wildcard of the business, she’s taken it for her own and for once, it seems like everything is in order in the rogue state. so after all of her work, she’s not going to let some woman and her cronies walk in and destroy what she built from ground up. this place, the peace among the destruction of the gangs and factions of the past, it belongs to six. and she’s making her message clear.
“ woof woof -- “
her tone is mocking, but there’s enough of a playful lilt that it’s obvious she’s not hostile. at least, when she continues; adding, “ territorial much? “ her eyes glide across the street; to the safety it offered & she’s, admittedly, impressed. but she isn’t here to pee on any trees or challenge the alpha, as it were. “ EASY, i come in peace. well, i don’t mean any trouble anyway. “ a longer pause, slightly thoughtful in tone, “ not really sure why i’m here actually. a place to crash for the night? you got any inns, boss lady? “

hey! if ur ever looking for information on my character (whether i haven’t finished/uploaded my stats or bio pages or it’s just information you’d like to know) you can always 100% shoot me a message asking about anything! if you need something cleared up about my muse, ask me. if you wanna learn more about my muse, ask me. if something is confusing you or you just want to know more - ask me! i’m always available to answer questions about my muse because the odds are i’m probably still figuring them out. no matter how long i’ve had them for, there’s always room for character development and finding out more about them. there are some things even i haven’t figured out about my muse, so always feel free to ask me if you wanna know anything.
“theres nothing wrong with sushi,” lindy says with a small smile and quirk of he shoulder in a pleased sense of nonchalance, “it’s usually my go to snack when i’m working. only good sushi, though, i’ve had some awful ones in the past and i don’t really want to revisit that.” she feels her phone beep in her pocket, but ignores it for the time being and instead she remains focussed on the woman in front of her. “i’m actually pretty hungry; proving other peoples’ ineptitude works up a pretty big appetite,” her face is peeled in a grin.
“ambition is the enemy of intelligence, you know,” lindy says with a wry smile, “but thank-you, i have a slew of other people in my life that could run rings around me. i hate false modesty. so, shall we?

lips curl into a faint,AMICABLE smile -- the kind reserved to those who know something the other has yet to find out. “ oh trust me, i don’t eat sushi unless it’s worth it. “ even if the chef charged 100 a pop for them. dahlia only ate the finest; blame it on her FINE PALETTE. hands still folded, rested against the small of her back she pivots half-way towards the door, blue eyes trained on the hacker. “ you should grab that, “ they dip to the pocket where the phone had blipped, “ it might be important. “ & would she consider it rude? of course not. women like themselves were a much desired commodity -- always on DEMAND.
“ on the contrary, “ the mafioso counters, one brow raised & she waits for length before she continues, “ ambition & intelligence are reserved for those who know what to do with their talents, & are smart enough to use them. “ yet, “ but if humble is your PREFERENCE, i’ll save my breath. “
a step, then pause, “ i admire anyone who can catch my eye, they just typically are of the female variety. “ a double-edged sword, she turns the question back on her companion, “ & you? “

Her eyes found the floor, her hands in front of her. “Are you making fun of me?” she asked, trying to sound less flustered and embarrassed than she felt. It was enough that Renora had interrupted, but her knowing what Quinn had been doing was too much.
“ no -- no quinn, that’s not at all what i’m doing. “ renora’s mouth opens, wanting to continue but unsure how. “ it’s been a long time, but i am not foreign to the need. i figured you’d like your privacy -- clearly i’ve interrupted something. “ nevermind the urge to step into the room & .. help.

I cannot believe I’ve been around here for two years already! I wanted to celebrate the fact that I decided to make an indie and that it lead me to meeting the good friends I have today. Thank you all for putting up with my rants, my endless plot ideas, my muse-less days, my multiple blogs and, most of all, me as I am. You’re all great and I wanted you to know I value you a lot, both as friends and writers. There’s no better way to thank you for these past two years than giving stuff away, right?
