I want people to feel the sweetness of candy and jelly in their ears when they listen to the music. It’s not music, it’s a sound made like a sweet dish, carefully picking it out one by one. I’m trying my best to look for the right vocal range which matches LOVELYZ members’ fresh and sweet voices. With my ambition to do so, I personally do the mixing job myself. So the more I hear the music and trying hard to imagine their voices here and there, the more I feel the sweet-tasted music itself.
03. 어제처럼 굿나잇 (Goodnight Like Yesterday)

‘Goodnight Like Yesterday’ is made focusing on girls’ ballad not adult’s ballad. Ballad music is very common in this world, but I try to portray the feeling of separation of those who are in their late teenage years or in their early 20s.

It seems like a sad ballad song by looking at the title, but truthfully it’s not. By slightly holding to the mood of first introduction, it’s a song which take a serene approach to separation, however the chorus part is even more cheerful. While naturally playing a variation of minor and major code, I try to unravel the feeling of separation in a girly manner. Even if it’s classified as a pop genre, there are electronic and ballad elements which brings a blend of dance style to it. This is the birth of LOVELYZ’s unique music which you’ve never heard before. It is the kind of music, just like a girl on her adolescence who feels sad at one moment and smile brightly at the next.
05.비밀여행 (Secret Journey)

It’s the first song I worked on when I was chosen to be in charge of LOVELYZ producing. I try to put the image of (a girl) going to a secret trip with her boyfriend without the parents knowing in a song. Looking at it truthfully, even if they can’t go far, while thinking of the feeling of going far in their hearts, with exotic feeling melodies and Shibuya-Kei rhythm together with french-like narration, I borrowed those props. It’s resulted in a unique girl group music which you have never heard before.
