You had been bugging Dean about having a baby for the past six months to no avail. He was unyielding in his decision to raise a child in the hunter life, nothing you could say would make him give in to your wish. You eventually gave up trying to persuade him, opting to focus your attention on hunting and taking care of him and Sam whenever either of them got hurt.
On a particular hunt, you were forced to visit your hometown when a monster began to hunt down its inhabitants. People you had known as you were growing up began to appear on the front pages of the national newspapers, so the Winchesters and you packed your bags and returned to your past.
Despite your reluctance in endangering the family you had living there, Dean was adamant about you visiting one of your favorite cousins. He claimed that it was so that you could spend time with her, but you also knew that it was because she had been one of the witnesses to the disappearance of the elementary school’s principal.
Upon laying eyes on you, your cousin squealed excitedly and embraced you tightly. You were quick to reciprocate her happiness and soon, you, Sam, and Dean were being ushered into her home. A baby’s cry resounded and you gasped, staring at your cousin with wide-eyes. She shot you a smile before stepping into the adjacent room, appearing a few minutes later with a six-month old baby in her arms.
The baby was quick to warm up to you and you held her in your arms, making her giggle and peppering her face with kisses. Dean and Sam interviewed your cousin meanwhile, but every now and then, Dean’s eyes would flit to you, watch you and your niece laugh together. You would lean back against the couch and raise her up in the arm, to which the baby would break out in elated peals of laughter.
A soft smile painted itself on Dean’s lips and realization settled on his brain. He was more than willing to have a family with you. Suddenly, the idea of settling down with you and having a few kids running around didn’t seem so impossible. He wanted a baby, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. Oblivious to his thoughts, you continued to entertain your niece until she yawned sleepily. Upon seeing this, you brought her close to you and the baby fell asleep, lulled by the rise and fall of your chest.
Once the interview was over and it was time to say goodbye, you kissed the baby’s forehead and handed her over to your cousin. Complimenting her on having such a gorgeous baby, you followed Dean and Sam out of her house after exchanging numbers with her.
When you were back in the motel, Dean took advantage of Sam taking a shower and sat next to you on the bed. He grasped your hand and squeezed it, bringing it up to his lips and pressing a tender kiss to the skin. You glanced up at him questioningly.
“I want us to have a baby,” he said. “I want us to have a family. I want to marry you.”
You couldn’t believe your ears.
