hi! just a question, by 'editing', do fansites just mean cropping out their logo?
It does include that, but it also includes using them for edits in, for example, photoshop and such. Basically, that image cannot be modified in any way.
Some fansites have specific requirements like “editing allowed, but don’t crop logo” or “editing allowed but give credit” or even “editable without credit,” but as of now there are no Taeyong fansites that allow editing.

In his SR16B days, he named Jonghyun from SHINee as his role model (original source ; eng source). After debuting as a part of NCT U, he named Yunho from TVXQ as a senior that he respects a lot in an interview, and this could be interpreted as a role model (source, starting ~6:55). Hope this helps!
