𖧋 as i was relistening to kala it really started growing on me so i decided to listen to arular and thank god i did. i LOVE this album. maya has such a unique style and i keep finding myself coming back to this album over and over again. I am not really an expert on production or anything but there are times where (i’m assuming) the drum machine sounds really similar across multiple songs but i feel like every song is still special in its own way.

● sadly a little underwhelming for me :( obviously i watched this for my boy kyle gallner but johnny also gave an amazing performance . I feel like they really made this movie captivating despite a pretty underdeveloped storyline and poor writing. I wish they were given some more to work with and lord do i wish it was gay!!! it’s like they kept walking up to the line but never crossing it and i would have liked it so much more if they were lovers but hey that’s just me

● for every imperfection I defended in house of 1000 corpses, fifty new ones showed up to taunt me during this movie. firstly, while I understand the stylistic change in this sequel, I found it a little harder to enjoy considering the first movie’s aesthetic is one of the things I love most about it. I don't hate the western look at all! I think the setting was awesome just not as favorable for me following the first film. secondly, what is going on?? I feel like the only characterization that remained consistent through both movies was Otis while baby, mother firefly, and Spaulding are new people entirely. and why did tiny show up??? I know I'm being very nitpicky but House of 1000 corpses is really one of my favorite movies ever and it felt like this movie completely strayed from its predecessor. I know that if it were presented as an independent storyline detached from the first movie I would probably like it so much more but right now I just bring myself to overlook some of these choices.

𖧋 everything sophie touched was so unique and truly her own. I feel like my ratings a little low but I think I appreciate this album more for its influence on some of my favorite artists, rather than by itself. I hope to revisit it sooner rather than later as well as more of sophies work

● this used to be my favorite horror movie but upon rewatch i start to notice some of the cracks in the foundation. its not the perfect movie i once thought it was but honestly i don’t care! the cinematography, the characters, everything is just so rob zombie and you can totally see his inspiration from tcm. i’ve never seen the other two movies in this trilogy but im excited to watch them next!!

𖧋 not really an album i see myself revisiting regularly besides a few tracks but i really appreciate it for how groundbreaking it was at the time. i do love mayas political activism within her music in the beginning of her career, making it really unfortunate to see where she stands now

𖧋 this was my introduction to vince outside of features and im happy to say i really loved this album. truly unique w/ no skips and i can’t wait to explore more of his discography
