What might be some of the most divisive aspects of G3 (even ones more so than moments like Twilicorn), perhaps the kind that brought on a rift between the fans who've only gone through the first 2 mlp gens or G1 & G4, & those who've gone through all of them?
That's a hard one for me to say personally. Perhaps other fans might be able to answer this better.
For me, I was very sheltered as a kid and wasn't allowed on the internet until I was in high school. This includes the time when G3 was active and I was most involved with it. Therefore, besides my best friend, I didn't have access to any fandom that there was. Any outside interaction with MLP at the time (online or otherwise) usually consisted of other kids making fun of me for enjoying a "baby show".
(That's another thing, the majority of G3 fans are more interested in the toys and collectors' aspects of it rather than the actual series)
So to this day, I'm surprisingly uninformed about G3 when it comes to fandom. If there was any drama over things, I would never have heard about it.
If I could name anything, it would probably be the transition to "Core 7". A lot of G3 fans (myself included) did not like this change at all. We missed our favorite characters who were cut, we didn't like the personality and design changes they made to the characters they kept, and we especially didn't like the new artstyle. Not only would we have rather things stayed the way they were, but it felt like they company was insulting us and saying "they won't care/won't notice the changes...".
However, there ARE people who DO like G3.5 and feel nostalgic for it. Even I'll admit there was some clever humor in Twinkle Wish Adventure. I haven't seen a lot (if any) people say they like G3.5 more than G3, but it DOES have fans.
That's just one thing I can name that a lot of fans didn't like. But there wasn't enough drama or fighting between fans over it to really call it "divisive".
I'd love to hear input from others who were actively online in fandom spaces during the run of G3.
Why aren't there any news since 2023???
Hello!
Unfortunately besides Alphabittle and Minty appearing in G5, there just hasn't been anything. No other major shoutouts to G3 in the latest generation. G5 acts like its creators lived under a rock with the franchise's history.
And I feel like I've exhausted all the interesting facts that have already existed. If I really wanted to, I could look through every pony that seems to have been inspired by a G3 pony or vice-versa, but that will get old VERY fast.
But, there is a rumor that G6 is already coming, which may open the door for new posts.

By the Core7 you speak of in here, do you mean G3.5 (with Newborn Cuties only being part of that)?
Yes, mostly. When G3 stopped making movies (before Twinkle Wish Adventure), they started by narrowing down the cast of characters they focused on to seven.
This is related to G3.5 and Newborn Cuties because these are the "main characters" we see in those series', but even before that they made a series of web shorts and games with the regular G3 style, only featuring these characters:
Pinkie Pie
Rainbow Dash (whose voice and personality were completely changed)
Toola Roola (whose design and gimmick were completely changed)
Scootaloo, who would later become a younger child in G3.5
Sweetie Belle, a brand new character who would later be a younger child, but older than Scootaloo in G3.5, and erasing all of the other unicorn characters.
Starsong, another brand new character who erased all of the other Pegasus characters and somehow got really tiny (and later fairy-like) wings.
And Cheerilee, whose design, personality, and species were changed.
There was no more Minty, Starcatcher, Rarity, or Sunny Daze to speak of. It was like they took all of their character development and world-building and flushed it down the drain for something completely different, yet not different enough to accept as a new "universe".
Do you have any connections to Daria Sound on YouTube?
Nope, but I'll check her out when I get the chance.
I see! She made a video where she quoted many of the posts from this blog:
I don't mind though, facts aren't property.
May I add a note about ‘Puzzleventure’ for tv, too? It’s a game of Gen III as well.

Are there any G3 character reference sheets? I only see G3.5 ones and it's a bit upsetting. I kinda understand why but there should at least be one.
I'm not sure what you mean by character reference sheets. Are you talking about back cards? Official or fan-made artwork?
Hey! Remember that discussion a while ago about the potential g3 movie that never happened but I said there were storyboards and art posted on the MLP TP?
I saved one! @g3-facts
I wish I had saved more.
Ooh, I've seen that image before. Unfortunately it was in the design concept art of G3 as a whole, not a movie.
Many of these backgrounds would one day become the G3 packaging/poster artwork.
There are unfortunately only two posts left in the queue. Hopefully something interesting will happen in Season 9, otherwise I know we’ll get tons of great references in G5/G4.5
