WHERE IS THE WHITEWASHING?

it’s even darker than the original????????? Whitewashing is disgusting but this is definitely not the case. when in doubt you can always use the color picker before accusing someone of something that’s not true. The difference you see here is the saturation, but it’s definitely not because 1o8k’s Hunk is lighter.

Color pick this and you’ll see that the artist’s version is ok. Don’t call out ppl just because you don’t understand color theory and your eyes deceive you. OTHER COLORS AFFECT EYE PERCEPTION OF ONE COLOR. Since 1o8k Hunk version’s face is surrounded by darker colors than the original (hair, jacket, eyebrows are darker than the original), is natural for you to PERCEIVE his skin lighter. First do some basic research using your software of choice or if you don’t have a software (even paint would to the trick), ask a friend for help. Some artists are beginners and they just apply color without knowledge of color theory and if you call them out like this it could turn out pretty harmful because they have no idea what they did wrong even if they didn’t. At least if you’re not sure, ask privately and if the artist is an asshole then you may call them out, but this is definitely not the case. Don’t be that person.

Please, pay attention to what you say on the internet. You could stomp some artists’ will to draw or share just for the sake of of sending heavy accusations their way. If you have any doubts regarding their art don’t “call them out” before at least trying to confirm your thoughts with said artist on private. Failing to do so could ruin reputations, feelings, etc. This is a latent issue in the art community so it’s important to talk about it.

So yeah. No, don’t be that person.

Kinda alive  Can’t draw very much lately because of the exteme pain in my arm :( In 2015 I had an accident for paiting a mural and the ulnar nerve got damaged forever  I have to take many breaks while drawing so the pain doesn’t intensifies so much!  As some of you know my lovely dog suffered a seizure the other day, which now I know was caused by a lack of oxygen that derivated from his pulmonary hypertension. He’s a senior (10 y-o) with a lot of complications including his heart, kidneys and primarly lungs, that’s why treatment is so much more difficult and urgent on him. Between the tests, hospitalization and meds I’m simply way out of budget. That’s why I’m opening 5 commission slots.
