Just finished this figure of Ryo after soooo many hours of planning, working and failing LOL

at first I didn't know how to proceed with making the wings, because there are a lot of them, and considering the base I was scared he would lose balance if I made them out of clay, so I resorted to paper and I actually love how they came out.

The physiognomy is loosely based off of Ryo's appearance in Amon and his Satan form in the OVA

DVMNINKTOBER Day 22 Fave scene

So I've been slowly, slowly been working my through this year's Devilman Inktober by nozoshii created for the community https://www.tumblr.com/nozoxshii/763169423585673216/i-made-a-devilman-inktober-prompt-list-for-the?source=share

Day twenty-two is favorite scene and that one was a tricky one to do even before I started this piece and I had reread the manga to pick out my fave scene and I eventually came to conclusion that my favorite scenes in the manga are when Ryo is having a mental break down and the best mental breakdown he has is when he realises that he isn't Ryo Asuka, that the real has been dead this whole time and everything has been a lie! Of course then the demons come crashing in scaring Ryo who thinks this will lead to a fight only to have Psycho Jenny inform him that they had come to him, shortly revealing that he was Satan along!

I love this part of the manga a lot because it plays with everything you thought you knew about Ryo and turns it on its head and the artwork in that moment is so wonderfully good, the cracked imagery with the broken fake demon mask with Ryo's face as his belief in everything he thought he knew starts to break apart is just wonderful! So I just had to include that imagery in this piece!

I'm not going to lie this piece was a lot to do, its like making a comic page and those are super tiring for me to make honestly! XD But I am very happy with how this came out, I think this is one of the best I've done in this inktober so far!
