Ella eyed him, exasperated, but then she smiled gratefully. Years may have passed since that toxic relationship, but it still took baby steps to get through some of the trauma. She then laughed and nodded. “I don’t blame you one bit. I’d want to see what I was getting myself into if I had agreed to help someone move, too.” She hung her keys up on a hook inside near the door. She smiled at him and gestured her arm to the living room. “Make yourself at home, pick whatever you want to watch, and I will get these flowers on water and order the pizza.,”
“Exactly!” He smiled and look around notice how simple yet cozy her apartment was “This is really nice” Gabe always tried to act cool, but its moment like this the mask usually fell and he never really knew what to do or where to sit, even when he was told. “I - um, okay, what about Friends, I always love watching Friends when I’m having pizza?”

“It was Cami wasn’t it? She makes it her mission to inform all new people”
“Well, she tries to warn people so they don’t get on your bad side or actually more important so they don’t get on your way but... I love food too much and I like danger a bit too much.”

“How about you show up at my house before we go off traipsing to murder scenes and I make you breakfast?”
“It’s fine, you don’t have to and I don’t think I will be thinking about breakfast going back there, but thank you for the offer.”

“Again you’re right. I’ll do better and leave him in the past where he belongs.” She removed her keys from her pant pocket and idly flipped through them until they reached an apartment on the third floor. “Like I said, it’s pretty minimalistic, but I promise I’m not that boring.” She unlocked the door and nudged it open for them to enter.
“Exactly” Gabe smiled and followed her up to her apartment, he wasn’t really expecting anything at all, so he really doubted the minimalistic decoration of her apartment would bother him or that he would actually think she is boring. “It’s okay really, I don’t mind if you don’t have that many furnitures, I will help you move remember? so I actually prefer that way” He chuckled “And is okay we could see any Netflix show while we eat pizza.”

“Are you free tomorrow by any chance?”
“Yeah I can take you to where we found the body tomorrow”
xellasawyer:
“I like thinking of him as a villain with no redeeming qualities, but I guess your way is more reasonable.” She sighed melodramatically and pushed strands of hair behind her ears, but then she grinned at him. “I’m thinking it’s a bacon and stuffed crust kind of night actually.”
“Oh no, I think he is that, but I think you are much better off without him ” He smiled “Sounds great, I’m in.”

“Uh huh…i’m watching you Mr Abernathy..there’s only room for one food hoarder in this firestation”
“Yeah, I got the memo when I got here.”

“We can do that. My husband’s a doctor and a handsome smooth talker, so he can squirm his way into some weird places. We can help you. I’m sure of it.”
“Right, if you say so, I guess there is nothing I can lose by agreeing to this, so when do you want to start?”
xellasawyer:
“You’re right. Thank you.” She drew in a deep breath and nodded. “Equate him with the evil wizard and don’t acknowledge his existence. Got it.” She looked had him and then chuckled. “Let’s order three then. You know, just in case.”
He chuckled “Well I was just suggesting you don’t refer to him by his name or at all and it will slowly disappear, it was probably not the best example” He smiled and nodded “It’s a plan then, I want one with pepperoni, what about you?”Â
xellasawyer:
“Unless you can magically make me forget the bastard, I don’t think there is. I appreciate the sentiment, though.” She smiled again. “I think you are. Not that that matters.” They had reached the apartment complex, and she opened the door and held it open. “I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”
“Well let’s try, we don’t lose anything by trying right, so the first thing we need to do is you know listen to your own self and if you are in doubt I will help you see it from another perspective. No more He-who-must-not-be-named” He smiled “Yeah I think I can eat a whole pizza myself, maybe I’m overreacting but yeah I’m starving”Â
mrsclaremackenzie:
“Both would be helpful.”
“Okay, I can get you to the crime scene but is not up to me to you near the body, even less both you and your husband, we will have to talk to the police.”

“Does that have something to do with where the donuts in the breakroom disappeared to?”
“Maybe?... Okay not but really in my defense, there were only two, and I ate them each on two different shift so technically I didn’t eat two but one in each shift.”

“either way I’m keeping an eye on you, if you start falling over on me I’m locking you in the sleeping quarters”
“Okay, I will let you do that, but I will not, I’m actually a bit hyper tonight so I’m ready!”
mrsclaremackenzie:
“We’ll know that when we get in there. Each case is different.”
“So you need to see the body or do you need to see the place where we founded?”
xellasawyer:
“He’s the worst, but sometimes he haunts me in the most inconvenient times.” Ella grinned at Gabriel, more than appreciative that he wasn’t anything like Galen. “Oh puh-lease, Gabe,” she said with a roll of her eyes, “aren’t you younger than me? Surely it wouldn’t take too long–a few years maybe.”
“We can’t let that happened, is there anything I can do to prevent it” He have seen so many lives messed for people like her ex, he hated people like him, people that think the only way to feel better about themselves was by abusing others. Gabriel chuckled “I don’t know are you?”

“You are going to run yourself ragged man, 48 hours straight?”
“To be fair, the first 24 hours were a bit lame, I even had a nap”
