I know none of my Tumblr people know what this is but they should absolutely change the edh hybrid mana rule. I've seen lots of things about how it makes sense from a gameplay perspective, like your commander being able to do things in its color identity and hybrid spells generally falling in line with that. I agree with that but to me it's a design thing. To a new player hybrid cards are clearly blue OR red for example because a) gold cards are explicitly AND and b) mtg design language typically follows the idea that looking at a card from one direction changes the card. Those "___ to ___" fuse flashback cards, MDFCs, the old kamigawa flip upside down cards, adventures - these cards are basically different things, card types, effects depending on what side they're viewed from. The border on hybrid cards being half one color and half the other visually says that it can count as either color depending on the situation. I don't care about the pips bro it's all about how the cards look
