ladies of Captain America comics: MARGARET “PEGGY” CARTER. part 2.

During the next issues, Gabe and Peggy are sometimes seen together, walking or working. In #184, they are again together, ready to work with Captain America… who has returned (yes, Steve already got tired of being Nomad). Cap apologizes to her, for the way he has left her when he abandoned his costume and name. Peggy forgives him, and Cap happily comments that it’s nice to see that she has her eyes on someone (Gabe). When the Red Skull captures them and they free themselves together, Gabe and Peggy nearly kiss in the heat of the moment.

Peggy doesn’t appear again until CA v.1 #231. Cap is back after a difficult mission, and he decides to take a walk. He ends up at Sam’s office, deciding to keep an eye on it until Falcon comes back. Peggy is glad to find Cap, and she tells him that Sharon has disappeared and she might be in danger, something connected to a hate group called the National Force. Cap immediately leaves to look for Sharon, and Peggy thinks that it is no wonder that she once loved him. While she leaves in her car, some National Force members shoots at her, after seeing her talking with Captain America. Luckily, she is still alive, but wounded, and Cap calls an ambulance for her.

Later, Steve goes to visit Peggy at the hospital, just to find out that a certain “Dr. Steve Rogers” has released her. Of course, Dr. Faustus is behind this, and he uses her as an hostage. But Peggy frees herself, giving to Steve the possibility of defeating the villain.

Steve always calls her mademoiselle.
