when gabriel samuels had first decided on hanover college as the destination for his future studies he had envisioned an entirely different life for himself than the one he was leading now. he had heard a great deal about the university and the hauntings, but usually those stories were always prefaces to tales of partying and the overconsumption of alcohol. and though this was not the way he had envisioned his second year might begin, he was far from ready to return home. and so he continued on with his life as normally as he could. his daily visits to the common grounds cafe had become a key element in his pursuit of normalcy.Â
usually he would sit there for some time, successful in his attempts to study and catch up on course work, but today he had found himself staring for long periods outside the large picture window that framed the front of the small building. lost in thought about nothing in particular. it was pure luck that he found himself once more in his own body in the knick of time, barely having the chance to pull his laptop from the tabletop before a drink landed with a loud crash in front of him. âwell isnât it my lucky day?â he mused, his voice still far off.Â
