It was so muggy out but the cool water was worth the trip to the beach. Peter ran right in and dove into the cool ocean water. While annoyed to be dragged California with Matt for a conference. He was grateful for Matt willing to pay for an extra two days just for them. It was worth it to come up from the water, doing his best little mermaid impression.
Matt couldn't see it, of course, but Peter got a laugh out of him anyway. Peter watched as Matt finished applying his sunscreen. He wanted to get a closer look and see if any of his marks were visible on Matt.
"Do you need me to help you in the water?" Peter called. Matt turned to look at Peter, able to stand up in at least 3 feet of water.
"I'm good," Matt assured, as his felt the water with his toes, dipping his foot into the water, and soon enough he was up to Peter. Peter didn't have time to react before he was taken into a hug and picked up, before being forced to jump and fall into the water.
The shock of cold was enough to make Peter squirm and the two come up for air.
Peter splashed Matt, it was there, Peter realized too late, that Matt wasn't wearing his glasses. He let it go as Matt splashed him back.
"Catch me if you can." Matt said before taking a deep breath and diving under the water.
Peter immediately followed, even more grateful that he gets to see this playful side of Matt. Even more happy to agree going on this vacation.

Of all the Sins to possess, he'd expected an ex lover he still loved, or someone he'd had a one-night stand with. Yet it was a man. A man he called a friend, someone he's wronged far too many times. He walks unlike himself, sensual and slow, saying nothing but pulling up his mask to show a coy smile.
Matt remained in place, frozen as Spider-Man wraps his arms around him.
"You don't know how long it took to find him? But I know he'd be the one to shake you to your core." The demon wearing Peter's skin said as it leaned in, catching Matt's lower lip then bites down. He pulled away. It made Matt wish it was not the demon. Puppeting Peter to play some mind game.
"Anyone but him."
"I was going to go to Wolverine. But this one is much more fascinating," The demon leaned in close to Matt's ear. "He's harboring quite the lustful interest in you."
Matt pushed the demon away as it contorted Peter's body to land on all fours.
"Spider-Man! You have to fight back!" Matt yelled, Peter couldn't be possessed so easily. He must be fighting back, Spider-Man was one of the most stubborn men he's ever known. "Peter!"
The demon laughed, an deep, rumbling, laugh, one that made Matt's stomach churn. It was times like this, Matt actually missed Peter's actual laugh. After freeing him, he hopes to hear it again.
"You want him, don't you?" The demon asked, opening his arms, as if waiting for a hug. "I felt it."
"Shut up!" Matt yelled, this time tackling the Sin to the ground. Billy club held tight to the demon's throat is it smiled. It licked it's lips and spread it's legs. "Stop it! You're not him."
"You thought about it though, didn't you?" The demon said.
Matt ignored it. It doesn't matter what Matt wants. He thinks about the last time Peter laughed. He focuses on the demon beneath him. Focusing on the sound of Peter's heart, it still beat his rhythm, the one Matt would recognize anywhere.
"Peter, you need to fight back, I know you can hear me!" Matt said, almost yelling at the struggling demon. For a moment the struggling stopped as Peter spoke through.
"Matt! Help! It-Don't believe anything it-" Peter pleaded before the demon kicked Daredevil in the side. A kick strong enough to send Matt flying back, hitting a park bench.
It took a moment to focus again, but Daredevil was quick to his feet. He had to ignore the pain, he needed to save Peter's soul.
"Alright, if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you're going to get." Daredevil said, standing his ground, the demon getting ready to pounce.
It took a heartbeat before they clashed together. Matt grappling and throwing the creature to the ground. There was a sicking thud and the creature growled.
Matt was thrown back again but he recovered quickly on his feet. The demon swung up into the trees and rustled the leaves as it climbed. Following the sound of creaking branches and a huffing voice. Matt ran away from the noise. Sure enough the sound of disturbed birds and a feral sound.
If there was any time to think on his feet, it was now, especially with holy water sitting in his utility belt. but he'd have to get the creature to come to him.
But somehow he was able to reach to Peter. He just needed to get close again. Hearing a beating heart behind him, wind rushing and he dodged again. But with the creature momentarily stunned. Matt made his move, sending the wire from his billy club. Wrapping it around the demon and hog tying him.
"You honestly think this will hold me?"
"Not for long," Matt admitted. "But I know I can reach Peter."
"His soul is mine now."
"Then I'll save it."
Just as Matt know Peter would do for him. He leaned in close to the demon, just close enough to that their noses could touch.
"Peter, I know you're there," Matt said, a plea, a calling to his friend. "I know you can hear me. Come back"
He doesn't know who moved first, he doesn't even know if he moved at all. It was just a moment before Matt gave into this impromptu kiss. However his hand slipped into his pocket, holding the vial in his hands, then pulled away from the kiss.
"Matt," said a soft, familiar voice. "That was-"
Matt didn't let him finish before pouring the holy water on that face. There was a horrid screeching and warm heat erupting from the body. Daredevil backed away as Peter's body contoured as the demon finally evacuated from Peter's body. Sulfur and brimstone filled the air as it melted. But Matt ignored that and rushed to Spider-Man's side.
"Peter!" Matt called, holding Peter in his arms, removing him from the wire.
He heard a coughing fit and Peter turned to cough up the water. There Matt was relieved, almost forgetting about what had transpired before. His face flushed under his mask and wanted to run. But he couldn't, something kept him there, holding Peter in his arms.
"Di-Did you kiss me?" Peter asked, his voice weary and scratchy.
"I-I'm sorry." Matt offered before Peter cupped Matt's face with his hand.
"Don't be. I-I just heard your voice and I followed it. I don't really remember much, but I just knew it was trying to attack you. So I fought back. Then I was able to break free before you-"
They both fell silent before Daredevil helped Spider-Man up. But they didn't separate.
"You said not to believe the demon. But...you were lying." Matt observed. Peter let out a small chuckle. "Do you have feelings for me?"
"If I did, would that turn you off?" Peter asked.
It was that question that made Matt pull in Peter closer than before. Leaning in close enough for Peter to push him away. But instead, Peter leaned in with him.
Later that night, Matt played with Peter's hair, holding him close in his arms as they laid in bed. Peter's breath tickling Matt's neck, and his heart beating that same rhythm. It was there, that Matt relaxed, comforted by Peter's safety, in his arms, and away from any sins or demons.
They are on Akishima Island. While this is a fictional island, the place Akishima does exist in Japan!
