Call to Gabe
Harry: She had to have surgery? Jesus. What hospital are you guys at? Richmond Memorial?
Gabe: Yeah, she really will be okay, so you don't have to worry or get worked up. She's just a little worse for wear.

Gabe: This is Carpenter.
Harry: Hey, this is Harrison. I just got your voicemail. Is she alright??
Gabe: She'll be okay, she's too annoying not to be, but she got out of surgery late last night and is just in her room now. Pretty out of it most of the time, but her doctor is pretty optimistic

“Well, if you can’t find an assistant in time, you could hire some organizers to get things in place.”
Now there were a few perks that an assistant has that organizers normally do not, though I suppose I could cave and just let them come in and go over some things.
Well, I have the apartment sorted and the office is more than a bit of a mess at this point, but I suppose that is a minor thing that’ll eventually be sorted when I get a damn assistant.

“Pretty much what my assumption was, that’s for sure. Now see, there’s an interesting tidbit that someone should lead a conversation with.”
“Oh? That would certainly make things interesting. ‘Hi, I’m Rose, and I’m bisexual.’ Is that what you’d prefer?”
“Well, to be fair, I already knew that you were Rose -- I mean, I do follow my sister’s instagram feed enough that I should have been able to pick up that part, but yes... definitely lead with being bi-sexual. It’s an interesting tidbit that most people don’t say.”
@gabrielcarpenter
You can huh? Don’t know whether to blush or giggle or both.
Personally? I’d prefer both.
gabrielcarpenter:
Do I know what the fuck you mean, Cameron? I mean, it’s been ages since someone even last visited me after all.
And I am not being a stubborn ass. I’m being a practical ass. And I also don’t want to see your grouchy, cranky ass in the mornings when you’re trying to kick some asshole out of your apartment and I just want to get out the door to the office. It’s practical and realistic and I don’t want to be saddled washing the dishes, which I know is the real goal here. Also, I don’t really need to worry about the finances part – that’s what happens when your best friend is great at managing funds and all.
Please, I have a job here, that I personally do happen to like, you know. I’m not going to just jet off to somewhere in Africa because you decided that you wanted to get your ass in a sling when you fell off a camel. And yes, I know that happened one time, the fact of the matter is that it still happened.
Ugh. You are such a freaking pain, Carpenter, I swear. Also, you missed said best friend last weekend – he was in DC for something or other and we had dinner, would have been nice to have you join us, but you know… since you can’t pick up the phone or anything it’s not like it really matters when it comes down to it, right?
Please, you have a job here, but that doesn’t even necessarily have to be your career unless you make it that, though I do know that you enjoy it a hell of a lot for someone that wasn’t raised in a police family. And we don’t talk about that goddamn camel, Cameron, I still cannot believe that Marisa told you about that!
I thought that you were supposed to be glad that I was in town, you know, your favorite step sibling and all and the one that gifts you things like an adorable dog that’ll keep you a little more protected and safe and all in this dangerous city. And I do pick up the phone, I talked to Micah on Monday -- nice job leaving out the overnight dinner, by the way. But he and I are supposed to be meeting up in Atlanta in a few weeks anyways with some of the guys from school to plot our taking over the world, I figure it’ll be a pretty easy thing to plan in two or three days anyways.

You know what the fuck I mean, Gabriel.
Don’t be a stubborn ass. You have a dog delivered to me last month under the guise of not coming back and now you’re living in a hotel. Jesus. Just come to the apartment you prat, you know that I’ve got a guest room and I’m not here all that much anyways. At least until you figure out where you want to land. I mean, why waste that trust fund that Michael gave you when you graduated if you don’t actually have to – you do have some of that left after traveling so much, right? Because I’m not buying you an apartment.
Do I know what the fuck you mean, Cameron? I mean, it’s been ages since someone even last visited me after all.

favorite thing about your job?
Which one? I spent the last four years traveling mostly and working with various charity organizations. I loved just about everything about that but ready to actually wake up in the same place without sand in cracks where sand doesn’t belong.
Being an attorney? Well, it keeps me on my toes in a different way than snakes with fangs do. And I’m pretty goddamn great at outwitting and outsmarting the majority of other people which gives me a decent amount of pleasure when I see their surprise that I am just way better at playing chess than they ever could hope to be.
ideal woman?
One in lingerie with a fantastic bottle of bourbon.
camhadley replied to your post: What the fuck are you doing in town, dude?
I /live/ here, for one? My apartment, that I own, is here. I think yours is in New York. You still own that, right?
Of course I still own my damn apartment. I can own more than one apartment, you know. Or well... okay, I’m staying in a hotel, but I’m back in the country for a good long while. Mostly because I figure I shouldn’t lose my citizenship and all because it would effect my license to practice law.
In the long run though? I mean, DC is a great place to annoy my little step-sister and practice law. People get divorced here all the time, you know.
What the fuck are you doing in town, dude?
What the fuck do you mean what am I doing in town?
