((Hello! Welcome aboard to my roleplay/ask blog for the sweet cinnamon apple gabbit toast himself, Latamire Munch! Fuzzle freedom fighter, test subject escapee, and currently single parent over 150 Gabbit eggs in a can. Few things to know real quick before diving in:

For the Mun: I’m 23, use they/them pronouns, autistic and damn proud of it, and have had a pretty longtime run with roleplaying, and I’m open to writing with anybody as long as we have a vibing time and have fun!

Posts related to Soulstorm will be tagged under “Soulstorm Spoilers”, though considering that Munch isn’t related to the newly established canon this hopefully won’t be too much of a worry, but I’d still like to have it be here just in case!

... Ye mean drink, right? Or drinkin? Okay, okay. But the only things I ever been drinkin’ up here are those fizzlin’ soda and poppin’ drinks from the big vendin’ boxes. What ya got ‘t drink?

Alf put one of the bottles close to his face, reading had become a lot harder. “Uhh… I dunno. Strong stuff. ‘Ere, le-lemme pour ya some…” he poured a tiny amount on the counter in front of Munch, there weren’t even any glasses nearby. “Uhh… it ain’t workin’… jus’ drink it outta the bottle… that’s what I do.” He hiccuped and gave Munch the bottle, which had barely been touched. He then got a new bottle for himself, yanking the lid off and taking a big swig.

The fins on Munch’s head stood up on end when he was lovingly poured a good access of alcohol spilling over the counter. He began to mess with his fingers, eyeing the bottle that was handed over as an uneasy gurgle began to rise up in his throat. ”Strong stuff...?” What did that mean? He opened his mouth to ask — Annnd he was swigging from his own bottle. Okay.

The Gabbit made a bit of a face and gently shoved the bottle away. He didn’t want to risk drinking too much of that, so... Yeah, this was smart to him.

Instead he leaned in to the counter that was still dripping down with the liquid, his face scrunched up, and licked it. He licked it, and—

“WAGH! This - this tastes awful! S’like burnt fish or burnt anythin’!” Munch gave a series of noises of distress as he shook his head back and forth, imme trying to ward the taste off. “Wuh - why would ya be wantin‘ ‘t drink somethin’ so awful tastin’??” This was nothing like his nice tea!

He laughed at Munch’s reaction. “The flavour ain’t the main reason you drink it…” he burped. “‘S ‘,cause of how it makes ya feel… drink some more, you’ll see…” he encouraged him.

Munch once again eyed at the bottle with that same sour face. Truthfully, he wasn’t even sure his big maw could even fit around that tiny opening of a bottle. And... his friend was really going through something. A lot of something, and it was making his insides ache.

“I dun... dunno if I really want it makin’ me feel any kinda way right now, Alf,” he said after giving his tongue a couple good smacks to get the last of the bitter taste out. “... Alf, what’s been goin’ on that’s been makin’ ya... wanna feel the way that this bad juice does?” he asked, clearly concerned. “What’s been happenin’’ ‘round here with ya and everybody?”

Alf had continued to drink, but he stopped and was very still and silent after Munch spoke. Well, those questions and concerns were certainly unexpected. Why was he asking all of that? Why was he worried? He was just having a drink, no big deal. He then realised he had been quiet for quite some time. “If you don’t want any, that’s fine.” He said, ignoring what Munch said and continued to drink.

Munch gave another noise of uneasiness, and the period of silence that had crept over them both like a freezing wave of spiked water didn't help matters at all. "Alf, yer actin' like I do when I ain't wantin' 't yap 'bout problems, and that ain't good. Not good, not at all. C'mon--" He tried to lean up on his stool, those big wide Gabbit eyes of his for once furrowed, serious as he set his webbed hands on the counter. "Talk 't me, Alf, please? I - I know I... I can't help much, at least 'wit fixin' things, but even if it's just 't vent, like I've done for ya before, ya can do that 'wit me for once! Just this once. Even if it's a couple words. And then - then ya can go back 't drinkin'. S'at okay?"

This was very unexpected. He hasn’t seen Munch like this before. He looked at him, then back at the bottle in his hand. His finger tapped on it nervously. His knee started to bounce a little bit. He put the bottle down. “…Look, Munch… i appreciate this… I do…” he began in his drunken slur. “…but how am I s’posed to talk to ya when I don’t really known what’s goin’ on myself?” He looked back at the gabbit.

Oh. Well... okay, he was not expecting that kind of response. Munch couldn’t lie, it was starting to get a little scary seeing Alf like this. He wasn’t used to being in situations like this. He lifted his hands off the counter and clasped them to his chest, playing with his fingers to both calm himself down a bit and also to try and focus on just what to say now. Not know himself? How did someone not know what was... 

... Well, come on, what did Abe do when he wasn’t in his right Gabbit marbles? “... Not knowin; whas - whas goin’ on?” he asked then. “... Well, we can start ‘wit that maybe? And I can get’cha... uhhh - water? Not fish water - good water. ‘Th good kinda land-likin’ water.”

Alf smiled and even laughed a little bit. Munch’s funny little way of talking and describing things was always amusing, and kind of made him feel slightly better. “Sorry, Munch… I don’t mean to worry ya. Maybe it’s just a down day, I’m sure you’ve had those? You don’t know what’s up but things just seem a little crappy?” He looked at him, expecting an answer, and he was certain he would say yes.

Munch nodded slowly to Alf’s question’s, looking down at the fingers he had been messing around with and eyeing at how they nearly seemed tied up now. Quickly untangling them did he nod. “Aw, yeah, ‘course. Bunch’a those, sure, Alf.” He frowned deeply, feeling a scrunch to his heart as he thought deeper into the questions. “Sometimes the feelin’s kinda build up, but - but other times they kinda just hit’cha outta nowhere when ya wake up and things feel... I dunno, weird? Outta sorts? I know what’cha mean, though.” Was it good that he knew what Alf meant? He wondered if he should think deeper into that later...

Something very different was swimming around the lake that early evening, and it was slowly approaching the Gabbit with a smile.

“Well, hello.~ You must be Kyung’s friend, Munch.” Tamara greeted, her piercing green eyes staring right at him.

It was certainly a quiet night, at least quiet in terms of the shenanigans that went along here in the village, let alone with him and his family. Munch had just been finishing up snatching one of his last catches of the day in his mouth, only to let it drop right from his maw at the sound of this new voice. "Wha--"

He turned around in surprise, only to let out a shrill yelp at this new figure and her striking face and appearance compared to how small he was.

"Uhhhhh!" He shrunk even more into himself on instinct, eyes going wide. "That's - that'sa - that's me, alright! H... hello?"
